Going to Switzerland first two weeks of September. Just starting the planning. Your videos are extremely helpful. In fact I am only watching yours. Original plan is arrive from U.S. in Zurich and take train to Bern right after landing (I know, long day!). Two nights in Bern, then two in Zermatt, two in Grindelwald, two Lucerne & 1 in Zurich before we fly out. Love the videos but everytime I watch one I start thinking of changing the trip up. Was going to rent a car but now decided to go everywhere by train. If it matters, while we're in fairly good shape (especially my wife) still I am 70 & my wife is 63. Does this itinerary sound reasonable?

Doing a 3 day stop in the Jungfrau region with my wife and 2 teenage daughters..this wasn't even on our list but all of us now can't wait to do the open top cable car ride. I've taken an Air BnB in Wilderswil (also on advice from one of your videos) - hoping to be able to fit the Wengen-Mannlichen trip into the same day we're planning to do Pfingsteff flyline, toboggan run and the glacier gorge. Stop showing us all these awesome things! :)

The Swiss train passes are ridiculously complicated, but your videos are a HUGE help. Thank you! But the SBB Mobile app is hands down the greatest train app ever!

Hello Jana and Brett, Thanks for your detailed videos. just one clarification, How to use the Berner Oberland Pass. What i mean is we can directly go, show the pass and take a seat or we have to book a ticket before ? Also, will i get a physical or virtual BO Pass?

Point 2 seems slightly incorrect. Intercity tickets are cheaper if purchased the SuperSaver tickets in advanced.

Hi I just bought the half fare card from your link and received the voucher.Do I still need to bring the voucher ti ticket center to get the half fare card or is the voucher all I need plus the actual train ticket to present to ticket inspector? Thanks

Just to let you know: "Bündnerland" is a tourist trap. There is absolutely nothing authentic or traditional or swiss about that place. And eating a "Flammkuchen" there is like eating a "Poutine" in a place called "NY Pizza" in L.A,

It must be about 42-years since I was there. I remember the train stopping for everyone to get out and look through the glass windows half-way up the tunnel part. Thank your for your video it brings back some good memories.

Great Video. But I do want to ask, can you get all your tickets for your family thru 1 SBB app, or each passenger has to buy their own in their own app? Also, can we get the FREE tickets thru the app for children <15yrs old?

Some great advice here - especially for those who don’t regularly get trains! I have to say that they are excellent for waiting for everyone to get on and off the trains - the staff were very kind to my aunt who had limited mobility on our last trip.

Your transport video, (being in the right carriage etc) visiting the swiss alps, etiquette and cafes (the eiger bean was BRILLIANT) I binged on all your videos without you guys I would’ve been the biggest noob and feel lost. Well guys map.. u r right. We wanted to go and see Oltschibachfall. Our map took us all the way up in residential area. I was kept on saying to my husband its wrong and he goes map is telling us. He never listened when we ended up to a no way😂😂😂

Hey Guys, when we buy berner oberland pass, for the train Brienzie Rothorn train do we still need to book seats? Last year we couldn't ride as he said we need to book the seat in advance for that day and he didn't have anything available during our pass availability😢

All your videos have been SUPER helpful while planning our upcoming Switzerland vacay! 2 questions I have ran into: Does the Half Fare Card show up in the SBB app? I purchased it and received an email with a QR code but am not seeing anything in the SBB app. I have a sign in for the SBB app and the SwissPass site. Do we need to verify our ID (on the SwissPass site) in order for passes to show up on the app?

"Saver Day Pass" it covered large amount of directions, and various transports: trains, buss and water-transport. But not to all, high mountains directions. Simpiliciese, can tell, that ticket works in areas where living a population. If You want "go" out of "living zones", You need a purchase additional tickets, to "clear touristic" destinations. (Pilatus; Schiltorn; Jungfraujoch; e.t.c) This SBB transport system, not a simple understood, but every individual voyager, need working own homework and some hours or days read a info in SBB home page. Thanks, for autors per info about "seat reservation". SBB only recomended take a seat reservation. ( I not understood, can I choose every free seat place, in own class of carriage?)

Im living in Australia and we don't have non of the issues you've mentioned, all are crystal clear. I will be in a holiday in Switzerland soon and already realized the booking train tickets and other info is a fucking mess, unfortunately.

Hi - Nice train ride! I'll be in Montreux for the Jazz Festival in July and can't find any information on how to use the Montreux Riviera travel pass. There's lots of websites listing the benefits of having it, but none on actually how to use it. I'll be staying on the heights above Montreux overlooking the lake and traveling by train down to the city each day, and back in the evening. The Riviera pass is supposed to give me free travel by the trains, busses and reduced fare on other activities. Nobody explains how to use it. To I put it in the SBB app somehow, or simply show it at time of boarding? If not the app, how to 'flag down' a train such that it stops at my train stop so I can get on?
