Warmest 2 then 4 then 1 then 3 coolest
5:00 what in the actual fuck, i actually forgot the existence of chiseled nether bricks. That is insane
how conveniant this is the excact same script and map of anouther youtuber who i watch who actualy linked things like the map and the sorces and his video was before this one
You came in to the discord and said that too, I have no idea what youre talking about lmao
Because of these lectures, I now use Minecraft to make concept art and some other cool stuff! Thanks!
Its a great tool! thanks for watchin :D
I know it's related to the brain, like hoe we are drawn to people's faces.
11:35 my favorite color is true cyan which can be seen if you stare at a pure red then look at a white screen lol
This was really useful! If you are up for it, it’s also very fun to build in Terraria. It might offer a different challenge to build in 2D, 2.5D.
3 > 2 > 4 > 1 Warmest to coolest
4:45 Not quite! That's actually the OPPOSITE of the truth. "Shade" is when you add black, "Tint" is when you add white. 10:07 So close! Red is complementary to cyan, green is complementary to magenta/purple, blue is complementary to yellow, orange is complementary to azure, and violet is complementary to lime <3 13:31 Closer to blue. Because that's violet, not purple. Also, warmth is NOT closer to red. Although red is the wavelength of light that provides warmth to our human color vision, YELLOW is the warmest color. Color temperature is actually not all hard to understand if you actually say things that are true. While relativity is a part of things, you also can't just say "half the colors are warm and the other half is cool" because, really, the spectrum is moreso divided in four parts, and then each part has its own warmest color, coolest color, and middlest color. The warm section is red/orange/yellow, with red as the coolest warm, yellow the warmest warm, and orange the neutral-warm. The neutrals are lime/green/mint, with lime as the warmest neutral, mint the coolest neutral, and green the true neutral. The cool colors are cyan/azure/blue, with cyan as the warmest cool, blue as the coldest cool, and azure as the neutral-cool. The final section, the non-spectral colors, which i just like to call special colors for short, are rose/magenta/violet, where rose (the not-pale form of pink) is the warmest special, violet is the coolest special, and magenta (the not-dark form of purple) is the middlest special. Warmest color is yellow, coolest color is blue, it's that simple.
Like the video title states, theres a correction in the comments. The complements aren't correct, they are basic mixing complements, I go into true complements in the deep dive video that comes out soon. I should have started with true compliments instead of 'dumbing it down' . Also covered this in the comments with someone else that pointed it out a while ago. As for your description of temperature, Why do you think Yellow is the warmest color? I've heard arguments that its orange, but never yellow, that doesn't make sense, to me, can you explain that reasoning? And it ABSOLUTELY is relative. You can generally say that the color spectrum is split into warms and cools, but if you are actually working with color, it relies on what is nearby. For example, you say that all reds are warm? What if you have Napthol Red and Alizarin Crimson? Alizarin is cooler than Napthol. Even though they're both warm in RELATION to something like Cerulean Blue, they have different temperatures in RELATION to each other. Its not as simple as just saying "blue is cool, yellow is warm" Corrections aside, thank you for taking the time to watch the video and write up a comment, discussion is important, even if we disagree
I can't believe um learning color theory with a minecraft video haha you're awesome! Thanks for sharing this ♡
Thank you for watching :)
This is false, quarts doesn’t naturally vibrate at that frequency only in quarts watches since its lowest number above 20k hz that’s a power of 2. The reason it uses quarts is because it’s made up of silicon which is what transistors are made up. Bipolar junction transistors are made of multiple times of doped silicon layered and so the opposite effect of comparators. They have a main input and output and another input that will amplify the current emitted. Comparators in subtract mode reduce the inputted signal strength so the opposite of amplification, and are made using quarts definitely use it as a reference since quarts is 100% silicon and transistors are made of silicon. What you were talking about is just wrong i don’t know where your sources are from but yeah… (no hate in just electronics+redstone nerd)
The little holding-in-of-laughter as the chicken decided to trigger the tnt at the perfect moment. XD If you actually managed to time that, I would impressed. If you didn't, I'll be even more impressed.
It was all luck! I sat and watched the first chicken for a while and it never triggered it, so I added more lol
perhaps the pressure plate should have been wooden for greater contrast? really interesting idea though
I agree! Too late haha
This is really interesting... (I have absolutely no use for any of this information yet I am enjoying this so much)
THE JOY OF LEARNING
I'll definitely keep that in mind!
Thanks, I'll make sure to write a singular piece of dynamite into with a chicken standing on it in my story
Now that’s narrative genius right there
the moment of silence when the chicken did it
Gotta let the tension build
Wow! I never thought of this!
I’ve personally learned a ton about narrative composition from watching BdoubleO’s videos. Adding small details like having parts that would be more moist be a slightly darker color or plants growing on them, having wear and tear on often used parts etc. really increases the immersion more than you think at first. Another great job with the video! I really love these explanations and to learn about the theory of both the color and composition of artwork through Minecraft
AoM mentioned - praise the Goose!
Prostagma!
Great tip! I think ethoslab does a great use of forced perspective in his frogger game. He even talks about how he wants to force the player to focus on the game-which is why he makes it the most detailed-and tries to make the panel facades on the side less detailed, but still cool in the background department. To make them look far away like buildings or swamps.
I love his frogger game, such a great idea, and it’s a fun, gamified way to decorate that I like a lot
Your contribution to Minecraft-art theory is so appreciated!
I appreciate YOU for checking it out :)
I love you Goose
I love you too mystery person
I’m ngl I’m binging all your videos
Hell yeah thank you!
This channel is insanely underrated, like everything is so well explained and organized, even I can understand it all! I don’t understand why you don’t have thousands of views on your videos
Hey thank you! Growing every day thanks to people like you :)
Disneyland does this a lot with their buildings
Love these videos Goose. Discussing things like color theory and composition through the lens of mc is such an innovative way to teach and learn. Are you an art teacher irl? You make things very digestible. I really appreciate your approach and effort.
Haha I’m an artist but I clean houses IRL 🤷 thank you for taking the time to watch and comment! It means a lot!
This guy is the GOAT! I mean... the goose! (?)
THE GOOSE!!
13:53 GOOSE: "There is one block I can add that will change all of that..." *places block* ME: *writer's brain kicks into overdrive* I've been looking forward to this video for a while, and you delivered, Goose! ^0^ I can't wait to (attempt to) utilize some of these principles in my next build.
ay thank you! I cant wait to see what you make :D
I definitely accidentally jumped onto the guide stones on my first play-through lol, but Skyrim was the first game I really decided to stick to the paths during a play-through. I remember being in awe of the composition and art of the map as you walk through the mountains and into designated area. I've been wondering how to capture that in Minecraft ever since. This video (and your whole series of videos) has been amazing!
Sight lines are really important but theyre hard to do well without doing things at a huge scale, lots of mods that help though! and thank you!
I couldn’t quite get what you mean in this shorts because well it’s short
My understanding is because this is 3d instead of a 2d image you can look at it from a bunch of different perspectives unlike a painting which you can only look at one way. So because you can't possibly check every single location to make sure you're build like good from all angles, he suggests picking a few key places and making sure the view is cohesive and balanced.
@@peytonrose4180 Bingo!
Its just a clip from my composition video, check it out for all the details, theres a ton more info in it
I can assure you that zero (0) chickens were harmed in the making of this video and that any apparent deaths were paid actors
Nope I killed all three of them! With TNT!
@@TheLoosestOfGooses Hello, I am the lawyer representing the family of the victims. You have been served, we’ll see you in court.
That forced perspective talk reminds a lot of how video game skyboxes are often done. Great tool for those making custom maps as it can save time for building the stuff players will see up close.
14:55 NARRATIVE COMPOSITION! The blue gives me the Context that this is an Age of Empires Archery building, and the style that it's at least feudal age.
Great eye but just a little off!! It’s the Greek Archery from Age of Mythology!!
@@TheLoosestOfGooses i knew it!! it's not stony enough like age of empires hahahaha, love the style!!
I learned a lot today, thanks Goose! 😊
Ay thank YOU for watching 🫡
A little tip, if you're seeing flashing black lines when trying to figure out the local color of a block, increase the mipmapping setting in video options!
Ahh thank you, too late for the screenshots but still very helpful
OMG I HECKING LOVE JOURNEY (ive played it liek 20 times :33333)
It’s so gooood! That game has had such a huge impact on me
Dude, your series made me absolutely hungry for more knowledge of design principles! Do you have any additional resources for further reading and research? I'd love to dive into it
There’s a book called Designa that’s very good! Good small info chunks that you can look into more if you want to
Okay so, two things: 1- Your voice is absurdly relaxing, really. I'm sleepy and I could feel little tingles like the ASMR effect, it's really great. It's just like Ianxofour's voice. It's calming. 2- PLEASE make community showcase videos. I would love to send you a bunch of builds so you can comment about it and talk about how I could improve my skills using real life design.
First off thank you! Some People told me to do an audiobook haha I would love to And that’s a great idea! I’ll keep that in mind 🫡
I'm studying architecture engineering, and this is so helpful. Keep doing the great work pal ✨💚
Ay that’s awesome to hear! I’ll do my best haha
Damn goose you're blowing up! 3k subs in like a month
It’s insane 😱
this is a really good channel, thanks for posting this stuff for us
Thank you for watching it!! 🙏
4:53 Omg it's the e- i mean, ikea colours! nothing else
what shader is being used at 17:48 ? i love the way the light hits the blocks
Yes! Your videos are all insipiring and clear, but composition is my favorite topic within graphical arts. I appreciate the mention of narrative and contextual composition, those are powerful and fun tools that often go overlooked. Keep it up!
Ay thank you! I’ll keep it up just for you haha
This is so violent to many deaths .... no jk
The Goose is loose!!
It’s me!!
Narrative hints in builds are key. Little things like having a splotch of a darker block, such as where water might be interacting with the build, can add an amazing amount of realism (and visual interest)
Yes yes yes! It’s the subtle details compiled together that make a huge impact
I loved the landscape demonstrations you built, those were really cool
Ay thank you! It’s the first time I’ve done it, I think it’s going to be a great tool in the future
this channel genuinely is the first channel that made me turn on my phone notification for uploads. i am a teacher myself and if i ever were to create educational content i can only hope it to be as accessible and enjoyable. this is truly inspiring, thank you.
Hey thank you so much! That means a lot to me that you’re still watching 👏
