      @@neiltonfaria5001 Thanks very much. Unfortunately everybody’s mortice and tenon bits are designed differently and come in different sizes plus the chuck on your drill press might be quite different. So the measurements I would give you would not help you with your situation unfortunately. If you lay it out the way I showed you in the video I think you’ll find those dimensions for yourself that will match your mortice and tenon bits.

    Doubt you'll see this but how is this even possible? I bought a WEN with the 2.8 amp motor and it boggs down and won't cut

      @@Royce017 its all about a good sharp blade and going slow. I know what you mean. Some bandsaw blades don’t get rid of the sawdust and it packs in between the teeth and it binds easier.

    I used to have a 1939 RCA K-80 that looked very similar to that one that I restored. Those old console radios look so good when they've been done right. My Pic over there <- is of a 1933 Philco 18-H (H standing for "Highboy") I restored about 7 years ago. Still playing fine today. It's mostly walnut with the front also having fruitwood and sandalwood veneers on it. Nice job on this one :)

    Have you ever had issues with blades breaking? I’ve broken a couple Timberwolf blades in my 9” bandsaw, but made sure that they were not over-tensioned and that I’m treating them properly. I’ve heard all over the place that narrower diameter wheels are best used with thinner-kerf blades, since they are flexed more acutely as they go around than on a larger diameter bandsaw wheel. A thicker gauge blade is put under more stress in those situations. Just trying to see if anyone else is experiencing this. Great videos, thank you!

    Love this project. A couple of questions. Did you think much about how the stand would balance with a guitar on it? I want to make a similar type of stand but I'm wondering about how much lean the stand needs to offset the base but still be balanced. Also for the maple plugs on the screw holes, did you pull the screw out and just used a forstner bit for a shall drill for the larger circle of maple?

    • @toocrazyaboutwood.-morgan2912
      @toocrazyaboutwood.-morgan2912 Před 6 měsíci

      I actually had to cut down the back leg of the stand so as to off set the the weight of the guitar. Depending on what guitar you planning on hanging from the stand you’ll need to adjust it accordingly. Regarding the maple plugs I left the screws in but put some maple plugs over top of it and Epoxied them in place. They are quite thin plugs because I wanted to leave more wood for the screws to grab onto.

    • @toocrazyaboutwood.-morgan2912
      @toocrazyaboutwood.-morgan2912 Před 6 měsíci

      It’s 2.5 Amp, I used the same motor that the bandsaw came with. Important part is your sawblade, I used 82 inch with left to right offset teeth. You’ll need a sharp blade because that motor is quite weak.

    I have the double ended one that you named the model 80, it was my Dad's 62 and 80 refers to the width of the blade (in mm strangely, for an English woodworking tool), mine has both sizes. The handle is Beech wood coated with shellac

      It all depends if you’re wanting to hang an electric guitar or acoustic. There is quite a few different neck sizes, example a banjo can be quite thin and a Spanish guitar quite wide. I hope that’s helpful.
