Most vertical anamorphic setups I've seen usually rotate the camera instead of the adapter to get vertical and keep vertical pointing bokeh but also gives you a 4:3. Reasons you like the horizonal, coming from a super curious and open place?

Just take the ND out..lol. Idk man I get time is important but it doesn’t take THAT long to take it out. I feel like trying to save time could cost you more. You could end up with under exposed footage that might be unusable. Now you’ve waisted way more time than you would’ve just taking it out 😂

last one is the most dangerous ... fuji hotshoe need to screw from inside.. if that one loosen... get ready to unscrew everything just to screw the hotshoe

I've been shooting for 20 years, and I don't see how a button for a set stop number would make any sense. Its pretty much perfect (as is all z cam stuff) out of the box. before if you had 4 lenses with different threads and wanted a ND 2,4 and 6 you might need to bring 12 nd filters with you for a scene. With the eND not only its it incredibly convenient, but it's no extra work when swapping lenses and it's consistant image quality, again as opposed to ND's which all can have a chroma shift.

I want to downsize, I love my SONY F35 with an Odyssey 7Q+ But it's too much I have been behind a camera for 50 years, started in 16mm then went to 35mm and finally to digital in 2010. If you do not like the vertical flare and horizontal bokeh you can try SpeedBooster adapter without anamorphic lens. The bokeh will be normal, flares will be normal (you can always add streak filter for horizontal flare). The Speedbooster is going to make your lenses wider and on a full frame camera it will have some black corners depending on the lens. But the lens will be 0.7x wider in every direction and after some crop you can get a very similar square or even 4:3 framing. And it is cheaper and smaller as a setup, much easier to focus too. My experience is with Metabones SpeedBooster and some vintage glass - most of the old 50mm 2.0-1.7 primes give a good image circle, faster ones usually have a smaller circle. Some wider lenses also give surprisingly big image circle. My favorite ones - Canon FDn 85 1.2, Pentax 50 1.7, Zenitar 50 1.7, Pentax 28 2.8 II, Tomioka 55 1.4 (this one is like a Helios 44 on steroids), Minolta 58 1.2

hello Joshua; firstly great Job and always congrats on your everyday journey. you have inspired me to lean towards the SLR mft and ef micro primes a lot more than before; i recently purchased the 17mm for bmpcc 4k, I understand you have moved away from black magic ecosystem however my questions was entirely surrounding the standard>high speed frame rates. on above clip you basically place your standard time line to 24 and dial your high speed to 48 and probably kept the shutter to double or auto/180 angle? I'm trying to figure out if I should have a mathematic approach to standard>high speed frame rate and not go with what is popular and end up having choppy frame. for example; 24>48hsfr and 30>60hsfr and as always continue inspiring..

Yoo Josh, just thinking out loud here, if the squeeze factor doubles your horrizontal field of view but mft crops it by half, dont you just end up with a horizontal field of view of the actual given mm of the lens? Great video as always ❤️
