It just make me think about a true story : at that time, I was trying to find people who had been friends with my sister, who had been a rough sleeper in the city and who had Huntington's disease. And so I ended up meeting someone who was supposed to be a friend of her. The latter tried to sell me 200 pounds for a small portrait she did of my sister, instead of making it a gift to me, but I didn't even have enough to pay a rent and to pay for transport for my monthly visits to my hospitalized sister. I was scandalized by this bait for money when my sister was condemned to death and on a moral level it was really a shame. Logically, a conflict ensued between us. That person had promised that she would visit my sister in the hospital but I had to remind her of her promise a few years later, which she finally kept but under conditions of absolute negligence, without making arrangements with my already very weakened sister, without even consulting me or even informing the nursing home. I later learned that she had done other portraits of rough sleeper women. She probably sold them but without these women's permission. In short, a character without solid moral fiber.

I like her work, but it’s very obvious that she didn’t have a proper ceramics education. The amount of dust she produced just in few minutes in this video, multiplied by hours and days and months and years will very likely cause silicosis. Her lungs are filled with this dust.

There are several death masks in existence, but many are fake and look nothing like Napoleon. The one Marc is showing is a copy of one of Dr Antomarrchi's, who profiteered from selling copies of this mask. This was reputedly taken from Dr Burton's mask, but the first and I believe original mask is that of Dr. Arnott, who made it in secret during the evening Napoleon died, by personal request. This belonged to Napoleon 111, Napoleon's nephew, such was the likeness. It is now in the Musee Massina in Nice.

Queen Mary's dolls house is incredible. It has its own fully functioning plumbing as well as it being electrically wired throughout. It really is a work of art worthy for a Queen. I love country houses too, baroque architecture is a love of mine. Chatsworth house is one of my favourites as well as castle Howard in North Yorkshire. Magnificent palaces of the aristocracy. My next obsession is the Palace of Versailles in France
