Isnt Vostok a Lithuanian brand? And Lithuania is in NATO and against the war. On their website it says they stopped working with Russian manufacturers in 2014 (the year Russia annexed Crimea).

It's crazy how many of these watches I have in the exact same watch/strap (or bracelet) combination!

This is how I feel about my H.G.P. diver. It seems almost perverse that a watch so affordable could be so good and bring so much joy. I think it all comes down to design and QC; if the watchmaker gets both of those right the watch punches way above its' price point. Really nice piece, wear it and enjoy it!

I have a Fumoso Blue 1521. It's a fantastic watch. A little top heavy (like my Seiko 7002) but wears very comfortably on a Tropic rubber strap. Highly recommend!

I have this exact one, but honestly, i prefer my Bm8180 also on a green nato. Better size and doesnt rock about on the wrist. 😊

I have the black Citizen Promaster 37mm (36,5mm), and I always found it so small compared even to the 36mm Seiko SRPJ81K1, which I have on a black NATO and love so much, and I can't even compare it to the Orient Kamasu, or Seiko 40 mm NEO sports chronograph. I had a lot of regrets of not purchasing the 44mm Promaster, and I wished to get rid of it just because of its size, and now I can't imagine a better suited watch for my 16,5 cm wrist. I wear it all the time, it's so light, have in on the bed stand to look at it all night. My other daily wear is the CASIO A-158W, being on the smaller size as well. I can fully understand your argument. If could or would be forced to part with all my automatic watches, these two quartz watches would remain, and my first CASIO analog when I wasn't yet a watch enthusiast.

Maybe the best starter watch out there these days. I wear mine on a Marine Nationale NATO. Olive with a thin orange stripe down the middle.

Check out the H.G.P. mecaquartz diver. They're using real G. Monnin cases and Seiko mecaquartz movements which have a smoother sweeping second hand than a standard quartz movement. Only thing is it's a time only movement. No date. But the quality is incredible for the money. USD $255 shipped from France! DHL had it here in a week.

I firmly believe that all Russian companies, including Vostok, should be boycotted for the time being. The Russian population, with some isolated exceptions, seems to be firmly behind Putin. Putin is a criminal presiding over a regime based on repression, lie and violence. Doing business with Russian companies helps that regime to go on. In the global scheme of things, promoting Vostok watches may seem insignificant, but in my opinion it is ethically very wrong. You say you are a Hungarian who’s aware of the 1956 events. Please rethink your position.

Myself, I'm against it. I think Russia is at fault, in the wrong and guilty. Therefore I boycott Russia as a whole. Not fair maybe, but that's ok, at least I have values and I stand behind my beliefs. 🍻

Nice video. Makes me feel better about the new version, because I originally regretted selling the old one. So differences are: lume pip no longer covered by glass; triangle cut; lume pip bigger; better lume in general; 8204 hackable movement instead of 8203. Anything else? Is it true rhat the bezel now has a steeper angle towards the dial, less flat? And do you know why it still says 8203 on the new dials although all new versions clearly have the 8204, as stated on the casebacks?
