Combining Oats with IH1460

Showing the process of combining oats with IH1460 after being swathed. We ran into issues, getting plugged up and had to refer to the internet for some help to get running again. After about 2 hours of work we were able to get things running again and called it a night to allow for the dew to dry and come back the next day to finish up.

Good equipment and good trucks IMO.
Thanks for a wonderful video.
@@larryklostermann5779 thank you! We appreciate your support. 👍
Doesn’t the beeping drive you absolutely insane? There’s shaft speed monitors on those that you can turn up or down depending on which crop youre harvesting
We dont see to many guys swath oats or rye around here, just cut with a grain table. Neat to see. 👍

What model of cultivator is that you are using? Nice video!

468 FM Cultivator
What state is your farm in?
@@williammatzek4660 we are far north east Iowa
The first cultivator I used was a rear mount shovel cultivator. The other cultivator was a rolling cultivator.
John Deere and International both used Swartz wide front ends in the fifties. My John Deere 70 has a Swartz wide front axle.
Anytime you pull a tractor always hook on to the frame!
I am a big IH nut like your Channel, very much. I have a 666 Hydro Diesel That I just picked up a few months ago and a IH 153 3 point 4 row Cultivator.
@@matthewstrauman-wg1uk I wish I had a 666 Hydro! That sounds like an awesome setup. Thanks for watching.
@@WildFarmLife Keep up the good work
sounds like the carb needs tuning on the pinkway...seen a few vids and it made a lot of difference on the saw's performance adjusting the carb. not that it is a Stihl replacement by any means.
This guy needs to bypass the starting solenoid. He needs to hook that battery directly to the starter. The starting solenoid does nothing. That is if the battery is good. I haven't seen him even meter the battery to see what the voltage is. So we don't even know the state of the battery. How is it he doesn't even know the plier or screw driver trick to try to jump the starter. I am quickly loosing faith in this farmer.
I actually load tested battery 400 amps with a carbon pile load tester. Tested solenoid and it’s functioning properly. Starter winding has a bad spot in it. Pulled starter out turned it a little and it works until it hits the bad spot. Edited some of that boring stuff from the video
Nice video

Geeepers 😳I could have had that thing running in the time this video took. Check compression and for sticky valves. run new switch and wire to the distributor . new point and non resistor coil. rebuild the carb. NEW fuel line .TAKE THE WHOLE CARB OFF AND SOAK IT IN EVAPORUST ! 😁 thanks
Great video. love seeing a Cyclo planter at work. Very Good simple planters. I'm from from south central MN, We have been getting a lot of rain this spring. Has it been the same for you in NE Iowa.
@@coreyseys64 yes it has been very rainy but we managed to get all the crops in before it got too wet. Thanks for watching.
you willl eventually get it to run if you can ever get the jung out of the fuel system.
That’s what we are hoping for.
Mantaapp bro
Was it cheaper to buy a kids sized cap instead of an adults cap?
Let bed this video. Black stripes are my favorite 66. I’m NEW HOLLAND equipment all the way
Chain is dull, not throwing any chips
What are you using for starter?
It’s a liquid starter with a 2x2 setup.
China fibs on the cc of their saws. They are smaller than advertised
Cool tractors and nice job on the video! The grain drill has small hoppers at furrow (row) is that for fertilizer or a smaller seed hopper, and are the liquid tanks for dust control or fertilizer or something else?
The smaller hoppers are for alfalfa and the liquid tanks are for fertilizer. Thanks for watching!
@@WildFarmLife Thanks for the reply!
Gotta love that 66 w/ cab pulling a 5 bottom like it's crusin down the ave.
Yep, it ain’t no big job for the right tractor. 👍

Thank you, for the closed caption availability. All the years of listening to the tractor and machine noise have made our hearing impaired, so I really appreciate the closed caption option. Skip, Western PA
Nice setup!
I think so too! Thanks for watching!
Nice video, love IH machines
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it. We sure do love our IH machines.
Why You are not using hearing protection?
I do have a helmet with face/eye/ear protection but I’m not always good about having it along with me when I’m driving around the farm. Had I been going to cut a large amount I would have had it along. People should ALWAYS have protection when cutting.
I own similar "Chinese" chainsaws. The chains that come with them are crap. I changed to chains made by Oregon and stihl and the saws work and cut wonderfully.
Nice video, I love IH tractors.
What was that green thing going down the road??? Just something to ruin your day! We never had a farmall H but we did have a couple C,S farmall M , 574, 656 diesel and gas and an 826 and a newer 2014 McCormick hundred horsepower as long as it was red. Skip Western PA .
Ha! They are always messing up the landscape. Sounds like you had a pretty nice fleet. Thanks for watching.
There are a number of items that I would like to see, most importantly closed captioning, as we farmers get older our hearing gets impaired, some other people don't want you talking, personally tell me everything about your situation. In one of your first videos you had a I H 1466 tractor pulling a chopper with beautiful scenery, please tell us where the scenery is! You must have cattle because you're filling a silo is it beef or dairy and how many? Skip Western PA
Thanks Skip for all the input. We will need to put captioning on the videos for easier viewing. We are located in the far northeastern corner of Iowa, not far from the Mississippi River. We do have beef cattle, usually around 100 head total between the feed lot and the pasture. Thanks again for watching!
