Used my fathers for years, alpaca lined, very warm. Dad was all over the pacific 44-46. Aleutian’s Seoul, P.I., Hong Kong. Warmest coat ever! Had buttons inside the waist line to connect to matching trousers. The wonderful coat disintegrated. Broke my heart.

I hate them. Worst 300$ of my life. They wear my inside ankles every day.

I received a pair of Maltons yesterday, sadly they have QC issue with the welt. The welt on the right boot toe box is folded forward and excessively soft and tall, it will not remain against the upper, it looks terrible. I email photos to Tricker's who informed me this is normal. Sadly returning them and asking for a refund. Not the experience I was expecting for a £595 pair of boots.

Looking at getting a pair since there’s a sale on right now. Do you have to pay in euros? Concerned about conversion fees on my debit card if I pay from my UK bank. Did you also pay any customs charges upon delivery to the UK?

Lovely pair of boots except for the colour, I'm sure I'm not on my own with not liking that orange colour. I have the Joseph Cheaney which I prefer to the Trickers. Never liked the fit of the Trickers boots.

There doesn't seem to be any pleats in the back to help with the chest roominess. How can a $300+ work shirt not have pleats? Gussets I can understand but not pleats.

I like the style of 2046 but I've never worn Dr Martens shoes, so I'll ask you: how "bouncy" the sole is? Is it the sole comparable to normal sneakers (Stan Smith for example) or dress shoes with rubber soles? I really can't stand bouncy insoles (memory foam) and bouncy soles, where the heel or foot goes up and down each step. I need help with sizing too: my foot is 24.9cm, normal width with low-medium instep. I usually wear Adidas Stan Smith 40 2/3 EU, Nike 40.5 EU, Italian dress shoes 39 EU. I like a snug fit. Is it 39 EU (6 UK) the right Dr Martens 2046 size for me? Thanks.

I’ve got a pair of their Shop Mocs which I very much enjoy. They’ve been a challenge to break in, takes a bit of time and effort for sure. I’ve never given Chukkas much thought. My experience with the Shop Mocs makes these look rather attractive. I’d need to try them on first and get a decent feel of them. The 23 last offers me good toe room, haven’t had any issues in that regard, these do look to be enough of a departure that I’m not willing to gamble.

Great to see such enthusiasm for boots! Beautiful collection of Red Wings that you have there. Great styling choice in the beginning on the stairs! I’ll add a few notes; 1. (At 6:57/ 6:58/ 6:59) There is no leather midsole (no midsole at all) on the Iron Ranger when coming stock from Redwing 2. Horse tack was not traditionally oil tanned leather like the leather used here. Usually it’s some type of veg tan. Often the types of veg tanned leathers used for horse tack are harness or bridle. I believe the quality of these boots is superior, as you show in the video. but i dont like the look of them. combining looks and quality, i choose solovair

just dont really like them from a style point of view. solovair look cool and you get around 1,500 miles per pair id say. not bad for 180 quid.

G'day mate, Interested to know your opinion on sizing, I wear a UK11 in the Solovair Gibson Shoes. I would love to know if they fit similar To Solovairs's. These look really nice and have a slightly different look to similar style boots, which makes it appealing to me. Cheers From Australia

I quite like the look of these, particularly in the natural Horween. I have a problem with DMs and Solovair in that I have quite skinny ankles (despite being fat!) and the eight hole boots are a bit loose, even when fully tightened at the top lace holes. I've always wanted to find something similar in design that fit me better and they seem to be much more "open" in the upper lacing on your video, which leads me to think they might be better for me. While I agree with the comments below about Trickers being a great boot but they're around twice the cost of these at current retail prices so the Gorals seem around the right ballpark for a boot of this style with superior leather to the DMs. They are a similar price to RedWing or Fracap and, hopefully, similar quality.

You can not beet the look of docs. These look nothing like them and very expensive too for what they are. Solovair and docs for me. Also, the Blake stitch is weaker then the goodyear welt stitch. Just my opinion, but thanks for the video. 👍

not my cup of tea - the soles are too emo and almost look like wellington boots with laces...

Docs for me mate. If I want to pay more I’ll go Trickers or Grenson. The rubber cup sole makes it look cheap. Maybe it’s better in person.

Get Tricker's Buford if you want a quality English made black boot.

I like my MIE Docs and Solovair boots, as well as heritage boots. I’ve heard of Goral before. While I acknowledge that the quality is likely superior to Doc Martens or Solovair, I’m not sure I could like the looks as much. If I want a better quality British boot with a style I like, I think I’d spend more and get something from Trickers’s or Loake. But aesthetics are a personal taste, and maybe it’s not entirely fair. Doc Martens and Tricker’s do have classic styles that people have grown to love over time. Goral are relatively new as a brand if I’m correct.

I have 2046 in Whiskey brown, vintage black and trying not to think on buying a pair in Crazy Horse leather which is now also nicely discounted Wonderful almost dress shoe for the money. Goes even with a tuxedo or even very formal suits. 1461 are a little bit more comfortable tho. Those I have in burgundy and turquoise and thinking of buying one pair in soft leather black. Yes, I’m brand loyal lol. Btw in tan Carrara leather I have 1460s and have to say that this is a wonderful colour and material. Look great and very comfortable.

Disagree on sizing. I have a wide foot. Iron Rangers and Moc Toe I can go half size down . On the chukkas, I have to go true to size.

I wear custom orthotics. Should i break these in with the orthotics? And if so, should I remove the little leather foot bed before I pull the orthotics in? Or should I put the orthotics over the leather foot bed?
