Now that I am old and partially handicapped, I realize you can't be that way in SF. You need both your legs to be working perfectly. You can't use crutches or a walker, or be in a wheelchair. The hills would be murder on crutches. When I was younger I drove a gasoline engine motor scooter, I'm not sure it would have been powerful enough to drive on those steep streets. I see scooters, parked, in places. My scooter, had a lot of torque, and probably could have managed those hills. I'm glad I live in flat boring, Columbus, Ohio. Well now, because of my crippled legs.

Hard to believe that's it's almost a Decade since I caught and filmed the detour trains in 2014 and in 2015. That was a Fun time back then.

Its been a long time since I was in Moosonee. I was there in 1978.

The line between Elwyn and Wawa is now used by SEPTA's trains with a brand new elevated station and parking garage at Wawa along Rt. 1. I believe the track was upgraded to Glen Mills as well so this brings the track out of excepted status and opens the door for longer excursions with West Chester RR again and possibly battery powered cars between Wawa and West Chester.

I regret missing this excursion, but my mom wasn't sure if she could handle it with her breathing issues. She passed last year on June 14 in the hospital because her lungs could no longer breathe on their own. But, our male cousin who lived in West Chester since the early 90's because he went to West Chester U invited us down to ride the train with him last Sunday, he is my late mom's only sister's son. He lost his dad on March 31, he had strokes. He brought his almost 18 year old son with him to ride the train with my younger brother and I, and my late mom's man friend who lived with us since early 1994. We drove down in a rented Jeep SUV because our 2013 Hyundai Sonata is at the dealership because it needs work. it wouldn't start either. My brother and I don't drive and are mentally disabled. We left on Saturday and stayed overnight at a Hampton Inn south of West Chester. Our cousin and his wife met us at the hotel and took my brother and I out to dinner with them to a very expensive restaurant nearby that they were at before. Their son and daughter couldn't join them. It was rainy, but we had a nice time on the train to Glen Mills and back. We later drove by the new Wawa SEPTA station on Rt. 1 heading to I-476 to head home to west of Allentown, PA. It was my first time on the West Chester Railroad.

Whats with the whistle and horn? Why do they switch between the two? Why not use just the horn like most diesels?

I've been up there a couple of times and it's worth every penny. YFI that fire tower at Whittaker used to be on top of Gauley Mountain iin Fayette County. It was 100 years old last year. The best job I ever had was manning that tower.

I always automatically associate trains from the early 20th Century with generic annoying electric, dare I say "rock" music riffs. I would have watched this had the background music not been so bad. Whoever produced this has no idea.
