I love it, it's my most fun plane to fly. I didn't know what the call them. I think most people don't 😀
What type of camera is on it?
I use the Runcam Thumb Pro W - it gives excellent results, sometimes I process the video with GyroFlow
I have the MFE Hero with cube orange, and it just works perfectly.
I'm very impressed. I've just about finished building it and it goes together well. It's a quality product.
Nice to see this video as I was looking for the same plane. Thank you for making this ! But I am really disappointed by MFE to see that "PNP" for them basically means a kit with electronics, but not a ready assembled plane. PNP = plug and play , so you should (theoretically) be able to fly just by plugging a receiver witch is not the case here. Considering the very high price tag of this configuration (1600 euros for my location) i think it is an overkill and a big load of additional work before being able to fly. If you are in to this for hobby maybe it is not a big deal, but for a small business who build these "pro" or "semi-pro" platforms this means additional resources needed to be spent before getting up in the air.
It's true but it's a way to get a full platform very cheaply. Try to find anything on this scale fully assembled for < maybe $5,000 euros if you are lucky. Look around you might find a reseller who will assemble it for you.
What kind of motor
It's the PowerX 4220/410kv Motor that came with the kit from DW Hobby. I think they include a larger motor now, but this one works great for me. Check out my unboxing video.

Hi, can you tell me which controller you used? And do you have experience with airplanes that have ArduPilot installed and have a gasoline engine? I don't really know how to deal with the vibrations yet
I used the QioTek Zealot H743. Any H743 FC would work, but must be H743 to support Lua scripting. Vibrations from a gas engine are a bear. I haven't don't it but I understand the trick is lots of vibration isolation mountings for both the motor and the FC. cool ! can we just connect the pixhawk to the SBC ethernet port without the switch? cause i don't use the gimbal. I have a drone with holybroo pixhawk 6X and a SBC.
I guess you should check with HolyBro but it sounds like it should work.
What frame are you using?
I think when they say “block up” the wing they mean when you mount the finished wing onto fuselage. Increases angle of attack of wing relative to fuselage. Seems common recommendation when converting static model to a flight model. I’ll watch other vid to see if yours worked.

It's the Freestyle V2 running max power with the Micro V3 camera running 1080p 30fps Goggles streaming RTSP to my PC over wifi.
@@timtheplaneman Did you use the wifi expansion module!!! It's good to see that the module works well
@@cesardavmun Yes - when it works it's great, but often it will connect for the first flight of the day, but after power off/power on again it won't give me an RTSP stream.n Yesterday I was lucky! 🙂

Hi Tim, I’m working on building a vtol q-plane with a 10 motor Deca frame but my cube sends a message that it’s unsupported and there’s a config error, even though it’s a full parameter list option. Do you know if it’s a possible frame without any changes to the os code? Thanks!
It can technically do 10 motors, but only 8 (octa-quad) vertical motors + 2 forward motors. ardupilot.org/plane/docs/quadplane-frame-setup.html I'd really suggest you join the ArduPilot discord server for help with this kind of thing.
@@timtheplaneman I’ve asked on the AP discourse but didn’t get an answer, it’s strange you can only work with up to 8 vertical motors because the full parameter list offers q_frame_class 14 to be Deca -> 10 motors.
@@bohman3634 Q_FRAME_TYPE should be either 0 or 1 which should work.
@@timtheplaneman I've configured frame_type to be 0/1 with frame_class = 14 but the MP receives a text message of "Config Error: Unsupported Q_FRAME_CLASS 14". It just doesn't make sense to me as the parameter 14 is clearly available and I've seen in the Arduplane GitHub OS code that DECA is supported with X or Plus frame types. What am I missing...

can you comment on how the A8 is for still photos? does it tie into the Adrupilot for mapping triggers etc?
The photos are good but there is some kind of problem right now getting them tagged with lat/long for mapping. ArduPilot dev team and Siyi are actively working on it.
How do you get the hdzero live into the stream?
HDZero goggles have wifi and can provide an rtsp video stream. I connect the googles to a hotspot on my phone and my computer to the same hotspot, then get OBS to open the RTSP stream - and voila!

Great stuff! Thank you! With the ethernet port could this FC conceivably be controlled by cellular signal? Thus eliminating issues with transmitter range?
That's already possible. and with "PPP" you can use an ethernet connection even with FC's that don't have the built in port (like the Pixhawk 6X as well). I put a Raspberry Pi and LTE in every large plane, and it can be used for backup control.

It's the LightwareLidar LW20/C
Congratulations, including regulation type landing. The Ardupilot and other giro devices weren't available when I suffered with my Maxford Gee E/Y bash model. The Dynam foamy Gee Bee Sportster is available again and is easy to fly "manually", about the same size, quite aerobatic.
Oh I'll look for it, I still have the pieces of my GeeBee which I have ambitions of getting back in the air .. if I have time, so much going on! Have fun in the air!
If you mean that you are using a giro stabilizer device, good idea.
Same concept, worked great.
I had a devil of a time trying to get that model to fly, others had better luck. The right wing panel had a twist that I didn't detect until model was assembled and detailed with scale rigging wire, etc. Should have ordered a replacement wing panel, not able to correct twist due to wing design. . Model is heavily wing loaded and not easy to land without LG mounting/wheel spat and dummy engine/ring cowl damage. Don't fly tail heavy. Hope you are one that has better luck. Get expert help in assembly, correction of CG, final setup and maiden/tweaking flights if you need it. Consider completing assembly and hanging it up as a beautiful hangar queen.

I don't know if it's better or worse than others. But you have to do some thinking for sure. I think it's all part of the fun of building yourself from a kit. 🙂

total how many weigh of drone?
It's about 4kg, but flies like a feather!
im guessing the following plane is getting fly-to coords from the GCS (mission planner), since i didn't hear of any hardware in the planes? so, that would mean having a GCS that would MAINTAIN comms with both planes...if so, would latency of a 900mhz link be risky? - i guess it would depend on the speed of the planes...hmm, i wonder what a graph of airspeed vs link-latency would look like.
I've tested this using 2x HolyBrok Sik telemetry radios connecting the two planes directly to each other, but connecting via a GCS also works, just not as well.
