I've always been interested in cool and unique cars, but have found myself even more intrigued by the people behind the wheel of these cars. Their stories have plenty of range. From humorous to nostalgic as well as educational, I'm honored to have the opportunity to not only listen to these stories, but to share them as well. I hope that I can help you focus on not only the car but also the people. My dad had a 52 standard. Hoffman car. But he put a radio out of a preA Porsche in it. It's Tan colored. You ever find it please someone let me know. I know it was on TV back in the early 2000s, and on Old Bug a while ago. All this happening after he sold it in the 90s.
I’ll keep an eye out myself. I recently found my 1959 Disneyland bus after a friend posted a picture in Germany had a car show. The owner reached out to me and now we are friends. I told her that I would love to buy it back when they get tired of it.

Absolutely fascinating story! This is what I love about the VeeDub scene - no rigid rules, just do your thing and have fun! Younger generations are involved than the Corvette scene - I have a very rare ‘63 and all anyone wants to know is if the numbers match - no fun at all! And if I drive it fast I get told off for endangering such a rare car…jeesh! The VW people, on the other hand are just so cool and friendly- lots of families involved, too, so my 7 year old can have fun, too. I daily drive my ‘71 Ghia and it not only puts a smile on my face, but other people’s too - no resentment, or the talk of $$ you get with the expensive stuff- just fun conversations. You guys get it - great video!

I went with my brothers to the dealer to get valve cover gaskets and the parts guy had to show them a new 67 how it ran so he used the demo car and took them for a ride .
That’s one thing I do wish. That I could have been a little older so I could have had the experience of going to a dealer.
