Didn’t know the transmission on these was so aggressive for that time. Like it holds up to today with all the 8 & 10 speeds.
It was no doubt ahead of its time. The world had never seen anything like it back in 08. Was also the first ever 8 speed in any production car I believe
You’re insane for doing this in open diff 😂
For the contenttt hahaha
19500NZD is a steal, cheapest ISF in Aus is 30k with over 200,000kms
Yeah we have them way cheaper here in NZ. Wouldn’t be surprised if they started gaining traction like they did in the U.S and Aus
what device did you use to record on your phone. Im on a budget too and want some POV shots 😂
Head cam from Temu man hahahah
@@EnjinTale hell yea
New Zealand?
Yeah man
Have you had any problems snice you had it ?
Only just starting to have a slightly squeaky belt on cold start which should be an easy fix, otherwise nothing mechanical.
@EnjinTale how many kms have you put on it, I'm keen to pick one up, do you give yours heaps
@@loopernz I’ve put on 10,000ks in 6 months. I give it the beans every single time I drive it. This car rarely doesn’t see redline
@@EnjinTale your a crack up
I want a isf so bad when I’m 18😭
Worth it!!
Had all kinds cars in my old age, including these 2 , m3 ,5 SC ones , rs4 b7. The ISF is the biggest regret selling. I am getting another as soon as I sell my ml63 amg. I did a review of my blue FBO ISF that you can see on Ross Reviews on CZcams. As well as my rs4 b7 MTM sc. nice work guys.
Hey man, cool to hear! I do love mine a lot, it’s so much fun to take out for a blast. Which generation M3 did you drive?
Great to see someone from nz enjoying there car and recording it in nz. I personally have a 135i n55 dct in NZ, absolutely loving it
I was about to buy one of those too before buying the F! Found the DCT + N55 combo fascinating
@@EnjinTale Yea really is, once they are tuned they are a completely different car. I'm current putting a bigger turbo on mine. You got a insta I can follow, so I can follow ur build if u end up doing one?
@@FLWBYA_135 Sounds sick bro, I’d love to own an N55 M2 or E92 M3 for my next car when I feel it’s time to move on from the ISF! I’m currently inactive on Instagram unfortunately for personal reasons, but will likely be active again in the future. Instagram is @enjintale
I have no canyons to carve around me.... I'm stuck doing this on Assetto Corsa in an ISF and not in my real one🥲
Are you going to put a suspension on it
We’ll see! Might go for some Swift springs in the future
This how you make a is f video 👍🏽
經典
The cheapest ISF in the world was $125 lol
Say what now 😳
are u in australia
NZ
Yoo! You gotta make some more pov videos 😢
Copy that
@@EnjinTale thanks man, I really appreciate you making these. My car is on recall and they are taking Ages for no reason. Anyways these videos help clear the mind, nothing beats the sound of that 5.0 v8
I'm probably doing a muffler delete soon
It’s worth it man!
I love driving my ISF. It is such a good car.
We would love to see u taking ur car on track days. I think it will do quite well❤
Have thought about it! Just need to find the right time to go as it’s a long while from where I live
U got amazing car control just be careful ok
Thanks man!
Dude, so you paid like US$12,000 for your car! I paid 42K for mine but I have 66,000 miles on my ISF
Interesting! 60,000 mile examples go for around US$18,000 here. That is pre 2010
@@EnjinTale I think because mine is a 13 and it’s towards the end of the production line 14s are pretty hard to find…
I live in Sacramento California, and have a 13 IS F and ultrasonic blue. I have Swift springs on the car with Hayward and Scott exhaust. I do get a lot of looks in the car, especially the blue color, but mostly from other Lexus owners. They seem to be perplexed because they think it’s just a regular IS at times.
I get looks, but that’s only because mine is loud! You can’t miss it hahaha. Awesome car mate! How do the Swift springs perform? We’re considering those for mine
@@EnjinTale they seem to be pretty good. I’ve only owned the car for four months now bought it off my mate…..
weld the diff🤣
Like a real man 🤣
love it bro keep it up
Thank you man!!
@@EnjinTaleyou are welcome, need more of these night runs without commentary just engine sound
lol might as well wash the car with a bucket of dirt from that flower pot lol
Maybe I’ll give that a go next
I'm surprised Radar detectors are legal in NZ.
They have been for decades now!
@@EnjinTale yea i didn’t knew as someone living in Australia
Sort of sounds like my Hayward and Scott exhaust… on my ISF
Surprisingly it does!
If you’re able to, try to find a used LSD. Would be a lot cheaper than trying to find a newer F
I will keep having a look around for sure. Would be a lot cheaper as you say. Maybe if there’s a wrecked one someday.
lets endanger everyone for my ego
shut up
I choose to do this when there is no one around. At any corner or straight where there were other cars (which didn’t make the video) I would choose to drive responsibly. The only endangered person is myself. I hope you understand
What tyres do u got on the back?
Currently I have Maxxis Victra Sport 5’s on the back, and Potenza Sport’s on the front
inaccurate speedometer 😂
In Mexico too! Who would’ve thought
now this is a guy that gets it
you're just revving for no reason until traction controll saves you. retrofit an LSD from a old is200 and learn to drive smooth
Traction control is completely off my friend. I wonder if an IS200 diff is plug and play with an ISF?
@@EnjinTale its never completely off in a Toyota or Mercedes, its obvious in the vid. its plug and play for a 250 so probably
@@keponen331 It’s a Performance car, ofcourse it can. This is true for the IS350 I had, you couldn’t turn off traction control completely, and it would always kick in to save you. But you can in the ISF. What you’re referring to as “traction control” is me taking my foot off the throttle, to allow the wheels to grip up again. You can see that in all the clips in the video. Had I kept applying throttle, I would be in the wall, and this video wouldn’t be on CZcams
@@EnjinTale wouldnt be sure about that but it looks terrible, jerkin like a guy that never used a clutch
@@keponen331 And you’re entitled to your opinion ofcourse sir.
Maad pov vid bro! Where then hill roads because I would love to drift with ya 😅🙌🙏
This was the Whangamoa stretch!
Try finding a wider road with longer curves and better visibility. Also, get used to letting go of the wheel try practice getting a feel of what controlled oversteer feels like. source: owned a VZ Commodore for a short while
I hear ya! But I’m not sure I trust letting go of the wheel in this car specifically, I’ve found it likes to grip up and go straight at the most random times, and milliseconds truly do count when it comes to correcting a slide / preventing a crash
1:26 Impressive detection ngl, usually my DFR6NZ either picks up the redflex vans only when you're in the danger zone or not at all.
I’ve found the DFR7 very good so far. No complaints tbh. Hasn’t let me down yet. Has even detected cops from 1-2km away.
Dude this video is amazing man love the content and the car!! Subscribed
Thank you man!!!
Do you think it's worth spending more for the lsd model
Depends. If I want to keep it long term, then ofcourse I’d like to have the best model available. Life is full of surprises though, so we’ll see what happens
I had an 08 and now have an 11, definitely worth it for the LSD, better suspension and better gauge cluster
@@dill6078 That’s great to hear, thanks for your reply!
@dill6078 imo I do I think its worth the extra 10-15k for the lsd
@@kennyjohnson4515 And the 2011+ does tend to hold its value a lot better than pre 2010’s do.
It seems you still have TC still turned on. In toyota vehicles you have to be in a standstill and hold the TC button for 10 seconds. Im just saying this because I still see the TC light flashing as the wheels spin and the power seems to cut out.
TC and VSC is fully off as mentioned at 1:56. These are the 2 yellow lights in the bottom rights of the cluster
On some specific older models of IS you have to do a "pedal dance" to fully turn off traction control. Not sure about IsF's though.
@@EnjinTale oh okay, just checking. I was jsut wondering becuase they lights arent supposed to flash when TC and VSC are off. But if the ISF does that then I am wrong
@@aviandooley3466On the ISF the flashing will just be an indication that you are losing traction, but it is still fully off and won’t turn traction control back on at any time until you manually do it yourself
@@EnjinTale oh ok makes sense. Thanks for letting me know. Definitely different from other Toyota vehicles
Duh ofcourse it’s fun it’s a v8😂
You should install Torsten LSD
Very hard to locate where I live unfortunately!
@@EnjinTale top end motorsports sells the ATS Carbon limited slip differential, i'm getting one for my SC430
You just need to learn throttle control when the car kicks out, like you know how to feather the throttle when you go from a stand still into a slide, just need to use that same feathering motion into corners, but with the open diff I understand it could be a bit sketch
It’s a bit tough, and definitely more dangerous, but it still does a much better job than my IS350 ever did!
I've been trying to get my back to swing out a bit on rainy days. Still don't really have the hang of it but I don't freak like the first few times I did it.
It’s so much fun and very intimidating the first few times! I still get that adrenaline rush every time
Im happy for you man, you got probably the cheapest indeed, i got mine around 17500CAD with 306k km and I already thought it was cheap
That’s still pretty cheap! Luckily it’s not a worry, even with those kms! Unlike many other vehicles.
what was wrong with the x force mufflers?
Definitely too quiet for my liking. I prefer my cars to be quite loud, but not stupidly obnoxious
@@EnjinTale thanks for the reply looking for an exhaust ,but they are generally more expensive than what I'm used too and I only want to do this once.
@@qnunyuh8417 Unfortunately there isn’t so much room for testing with what I had done, it’s more of a “slap it in and hope it sounds good”, but it came out exactly how I wanted it! Still 95% as loud as the full muffler delete, but not raspy and tinny anymore. Just a little 12” hotdog bullet did the trick.
Did you change from the factory exhaust system to the x-force or was it on the car when you bought it? What happened to the x-force mufflers?
So the car already came with the X-Force when I purchased it. I still have the X-Force mufflers, incase me or any future owner would like to change back for whatever reason.
if you don’t mind me asking, how much was the price? (Just the tips) I’m looking for the same sort of thing and they look like they have a good selection
@@JongaNationRacing Tips were $50 NZD each. Mufflers were around 200-300 each too.
The open diff is actually an e-diff. Unless you do heavy track days, you really don't need an LSD. The e-diff works perfectly fine for street driving fun. You can do 2 wheel burn outs etc.
In the wet it works pretty good, although in the dry I do struggle to get it how I want it. I have done one wheel peels too, so it’s very iffy but I do agree. You don’t technically need the LSD unless doing track days, it becomes a want and not a need. Next video I’ll be posting will be in the wet!
Your spec is so clean, im subscribing
Thank you man!! Welcome! 🙏
69th like hehe much lovve bro always good to see fellow new zealanders doing yt I wish to join it some day but don't know how to start
Appreciate it! In my experience, you need to feel some sort of passion for it, so it’s more of a hobby rather than a chore, and then you naturally get into a flow of it!
