Wow looks like y'all are getting the nasty weather 2-3 days after it passes through here in St. Landry Parish. A little rain can provide a little relief from the heat, but at the expense of humidity and muddy conditions that follow. Multiple days of rain can take a toll on safety and health... especially your feet. How're they holding out? Take care, be safe and keep the vids comin' bro. Hope the new shoes work. They sure are snazzy. My chiropractor recommended a small drop to me. He said it does take some stress off of the tendons.

Congrats on a safe and JOYful JOurneY to 400+ miles. As for the Jolis Papillons (Limenitis Arthemis Astyanax) -- the grouping is called "Puddling". Ya know why the butterflies were hangin' there...? I'd say someone left a puddle of urine there and the insects are seeking the minerals left behind. Sometimes it may be another animal's urine or just that the bare soil had some minerals that were an attractant...but my money is on the Pee Theory.

With the types of fuels they have and the intensity of their fires they should invest in some proper wildland PPE. Would make their lives easier I bet if they had greens and yellows as well as proper helmets so they aren't overheating in their bunkers. I am sure there is a grant out there they could get access to, or if their agencies have a program in place with their state's DNR or Forest Service like us at the NCFS have with our local fire departments. Good work regardless, I think some of our full-timers were deployed down there for these fires.

Everyone talks about the pretty Fall Leaf Color...but I love the two weeks period while you were there -- as the Green Leaves Pop from the bottom and begin the rise to the mountaintops. "Greening of the Mountain"...the locals call it. -- Also, I want to say -- Your Footage of Charlie's Bunion is "Bien! Tres Bien!"... - Translates Very Well on A computer Screen or TV...Spectacular.

Bayou - Love your vlog and loved the Millipede shot and your exit shot..! I live in the Smokys and recently saw a Milli that was very similar to that one. I Googled it and it turns out there are 79 species found and identified by scientists in the "Park" - that is just Millipedes -- different than the Centipede critters that have legs going out to the side of their body segments. Finding JOY in your JOurneY while "on the move" -- You Got This ... and we don't mean maybe.
