I was at this game. Awesome witnessing rookie Kate Martin live, in action- knocking down some three's and her defense. I was there to suppose and witness Kate Martin and the Las Vegas Aces, not the Atlanta Dream.
I hope to someday have a friendship like theirs.
Underrated aspect of her game is how great of a screen navigator she is.

THIS is what being a rookie is like for most everyone but the superstars. Play a role, make good plays, be a good teammate. If you can inject energy and fuel a good three or five minute stretch, you've had a fantastic outing. She's gonna be a decade long player

I like how she pushed off after being fouled and getting no call, letting the other player know she's not going to take any crap.. Her best friend, former teammate, Caitlin could take a lesson from her there, instead she just tosses her hands in the air.. If the ref isn't going to protect you, then you have to protect yourself!

Clark was told not to react. Team couldn’t afford her Technical fouls or risk ejection.
CC pushed back early in the season and got a technical. She was told to not react anymore.
Cause this isn’t the street. Fever and Clark can’t afford technicals. At 7 for the season, you’re suspended for a game, for that one and each additional. If she fights back they’re gonna keep on provoking her.
@@a2knyc I don't expect her to fight back every time, but you keep letting them hit you and get away with it, they'll keep doing it... At some point you have to push back, I'm not saying deck someone, just like Kate did, a quick shove just to let them know you won't be pushed around. Idealy the refs would do a better job, so far this year I've seen the worst refereeing I've ever seen... I've watched a ton of college basketball, mens and womens, refs were much better, and of course the NBA refs are better...These WNBA refs should be calling high school games... Not just calls that involve Clark, but everyone on every team.. The hard fouls seem to have calmed down on Clark, perhaps with the all-star break, she'll be teamed up with some of her adversaries a few bridges get built towards mutual respect. It could happen... lol

These announcers missed a lot. It wasn’t a fake pass. Bell was supposed to be there, but had run back on defense cause she thought Dallas was gonna get the rebound. Watch the full play again. When Kate realized no one was there, she took the shot.
