Tarik Hopstock sharing his techniques and jiu-jitsu journey with you!
Stop The Tripod
Hey there! These past few weeks we've been working on dealing with different turtle positions. Here are the techniques we drilled this Wednesday at Frontline Academy. I usually film in an empty room for best audio and no distractions, but I find it hard to organize and schedule the time for it. So, I'm trying to film during some of my classes at Frontline Academy Bergen. Please let me know what you think of this format. Let's get into it! 🤙

So instead of using de la riva to drop him back and to the side for a bolo. You pull him forward and he stacks over you, I like it. I will drill this ✊🏽
I find your channel the easiest to learn from. Great teaching 👏
Thank you champ 🎉
Do u know if u can use this gaurd in mma ?
Smart for splitting the legs
Could you do a overhook kimura from the gaurd
Short and sweet. Straight up business. I love it. Thanks, dude.
Ill give u credit instead of usinb some hot chick like everyone, u using a middle age fat nicholas meraghali look alike
Islam Makhachev did it with Dustin that lead to submission. He know Dustin don't expect it! Dustin must be just expecting normal shoot the single or double leg.. . In his fight with Charles Olivera, he don't get the take down from shoot single or double leg, but he get take down from some judo throw from cline.
Discovered this while rolling and was looking for a reliable setup. Thanks
great content Tarik!
Good stuff! Great way to repeat or follow the class if you cant be there🔥 Format works! easy to follow Backgroud noise wasnt to bad
Some techniques from bottom turtle would be nice to see.
I only turtle from top personally
🔥🔥🔥Pushing the knee away, just the detail I needed 😃👍🏼
Not only does this help with ju jitsue it also helps you suck yourself off its a two for one 🎉
The bar at the bottom of the screen showing the different video sections is a great idea!
You dont do that move when you do it fast rewine that shit
Perfect
if you take out slams, then getting picked up should make you lose points, otherwise it's kind of ridiculous
Holy moly, you are beast 🎉❤
Love this
That was really amazing. I was trying it for a long time but couldn't succeed but now after watching this i did it.
great instructions, thanks!
It's way harder to stay on someone's back when they stand than people think. you have to maintain the chest connection like your life depends on it, and the Suleov Stretch isn't super easy to get to
Arguably, you don't really need to slam. . . If you can maintain base and posture you can just schuck them off like the guy did. . . That said, I don't think a 'slam' is necessarily the bad thing. . . It's lack of control. . . I've stood up with people on my back, and then they try to power half and crank my neck almost slamming me into the mat. . . That was just as if not more dirty (because it was an escelation)
OSS!
Great stuff! Thanks coach, Tarik!
Almost had this in post-class rolling but couldn't quite figure out how to get to finishing position, this helped, thanks!
Baratoplata is to Tarikoplata what D'arce is to Anaconda. They're the same lockups but done in different directions.
Just wondering, what would be the legality of this under ibjjf nogi? At what point would a half Nelson be considered a neck crank
I've been looking for this back for a minute. Thanks, brother. Oss!
Helpful!
slams allowed = then people will realize v fast it's extremely stupid to hang off of a standing opponent
I did not look like a slam to me
Isn't Christian jumping just a bit, actingfor this video?) I Tried with 20kg heavier partner and it was literally impossible)
He is definitely being helpful for the purpose of showing the technique in this video 😆 but with bigger people I'll more likely go for attacks on the upper body.
@@TarikBJJ thank you for your reply!
Excellent. Thanks for posting
do you steal bikes?
No he bikes to Brazilian jujitzu classes and rides on the sidewalks looking for kids to pick up on the way
Mikey Muscimecci is a really great teacher. He has great gward retention
Regular comp - Dont Slam PAID / Sponsored Comp - FINISH HIM
Always uses this takedown
I've been adding tarikoplatas and baratoplatas on my game for the last year, is addicting
🙏 thank you. I have been thinking about this choke as a mid transition to the darce but was not sure if it will work? Thanks again for showing the mechanics.
ggwp
Beast!
does this work if you’re on the other side of the seat belt?
Maybe reset the fighters and give a point to the guy who COULD have slammed his opponent ? slamming is bad IMO, but i think having fighters being allowed to stay on someones back like this creates an opertunity to exploit the rules.
Id like to get slammed every now and then controlled and with someone i trust just because its what would happen outside of the gym but most people would not like to be slammed so its generally a dick move.
Slam always
Bjj is shit. There's more martial arts that work people. Or go lay on your back and get your head kicked in
My opinion is Batista Bomb😂
Does putting yourself in a situation that could get you slammed to the ground constitute taking advantage of a ruleset? This is not something that one would do in a fight... Just a thought.
Is there a universal experience of combat?
Exploiting the rules has always been a thing. Jiu jitsu is no different.
