    Great run down! I'm a welder/mouldmaker and I daily the fastback. It's not perfect but it's fast and effective. That Toughbuilt looks really, really enticing, though! The Hart and Milwaukee are owned by the same company, TTI. I would not be surprised if they were made in the same factory.

    Thank you for this video! If you break down boxes, how does it not bother you that you don't get an entirely new blade when you flip it around on the Milwaukee? It ruins the whole knife for me. I will definitely be getting the toughbuilt for my collection

    At $10, the Hart is an "impulse buy" for regular people, but the Toughbuilt and Milwaukee would be "no brainers" for folks in the trades. Great review! You style is thorough and easy to listen to.

    I really like the Klein, i gave 9.99 for it. I gotta laugh at you saying the gimping is too aggressive. They sell a model with blade storage. I like the removeable 1/4" driver. That bit driver is geared towards electritians because we use the shit out of ¼" drivers at odd times. 😆

  • @jasons5654
    @jasons5654 Před měsícem

    Milwaukee was the first one i have seen that put the blade release on the opposite side where if your right handed you wouldn't hit it by accident

    Hart CLONED Kershaw Select Fire bit flip out storage 1:1 and used a utility blade over a folding blade design. The Kershaw Shuffle DIY also is a great bit driver and knife combo. Walmart is anti 2A and funds lobby groups that appose so I never shop there. Aldi, Dollar stores, etc have better products and service.

    • @NickDoesThings-
      @NickDoesThings- Před měsícem

      It does look very similar. I hope the Kershaw is built better. The Hart bit clip broke already. I also love my Shuffle DIY. But this video was specifically aimed at utility knives with drivers. Love me some Aldi too!

    I have this tote and it's fantastic. It's what I use for service calls (Security Industry) I have the Large Rolling Tote as well that I keep my laptop and programming equipment in. I can stack the tote on top of the rolling one and it stays very well. for project work I have a bunch of the Rigid Pro Gear boxes but I like so much of what Toughbuilt is doing Im going to upgrade to the Stacktech system, Probably going to retire the rigid boxes and keep them for my camping gear.

    Subscribed. Love my Milwaukee 1901, but considering this Fastback as well. Carrying the 1901 and the Leatherman Wave give me just about everything I need for pocket tools, but would be nice to leave the Wave at home sometimes.

    • @NickDoesThings-
      @NickDoesThings- Před 2 měsíci

      Yeah, there is a line when it comes to multi tools. As soon as I start thinking about all the things I can carry in my pockets I quickly end up with too much. It’s hard to pare down from a multitool without feeling naked. lol. I ended up keeping my multitool in my backpack, that way I have it nearby if I need it. Some guys might leave it in their glove box. That said, if it doesn’t bother you to carry it, why change? For me, 90% of what I use my multitool for is cutting, screwdriver, and bottle opener of course. So I rarely feel I am missing out with the fastback. All depends on what you do from day to day. Cheers!

  • @DaOrr
    @DaOrr Před 2 měsíci

    I just got the fast back, the newer model with the metal ball and I can't get the blade storage to work, the liner lock seems kinda loose and won't keep the blade in, just falls out, am I doing something wrong or the quality control on the newer models just aren't that good?

      @NickDoesThings- Před 3 měsíci

      Right on. Yeah I like that clip on the Klein. It is the same clip that is on my workpro knives. I haven't had an issue with my the fastback clip yet, but I could see that happening. Especially if a guy is crawling around in tight spaces like a plumber or electrician.

    Kershaw makes a standard blade knife obviously the point of this video was to highlight utility razor blade stlyes. But the Kershaw “select fire” has a bit storage mechanism identical to that Hart. But it has a driver like the Klein with a magnet. I really like that Kershaw a lot. I just replace the bits with my most used Milwaukee bits. Anyways great video sir!

    I like Milwaukee but their bits suck. I use wiha best bits ive ever found. Ive tried most brand names even snap-on, matco,dewalt an many more i can't remember (or more likely can't spell) lol. what bits do you find very useful. I highly recommend wiha. I changed to them on a 3 level deck build. I was using other brand bits like 5 a day. Bought wiha used 3 bits for the rest of the job and that was because i lost 2 bits on a extention with a broken magnet.

    Hi Guys!!! Awesome video! Thanks Dude! Hey, for saw blade and file storage, I used a 1" PVC pipe about 12" long with caps on the end (no gluing). I hammered one cap on and the other cap, I cut several slits in it to make it easy to get off without falling off. And, for bit and other small item storage, I've found several good plastic boxes in the fishing and craft sections at Walmart. 🙂

    • @NickDoesThings-
      @NickDoesThings- Před 6 měsíci

      Right on man! The pvc pipe hack is a good idea! I am constantly looking for little boxes and storage solutions of bits and blades. I recently ordered a bunch of small containers off Temu. They should come in super handy

    24:24 The Hart is the same tool as Milwaukee it’s just the brand is meant for cheaper pricing and it’s commissioned by Walmart the manufacture is TTI. All HART tools are Milwaukee tools it’s just name differently just for Walmart.

    • @NickDoesThings-
      @NickDoesThings- Před 6 měsíci

      Yeah, I know TTI acquired heart a few years ago to fill out their hand-tool line. But just because the same conglomerate owns multiple brands, doesn't mean the brands are the same. Different companies with different engineers and designers using different materials to different tolerances, manufactured in different places (most typically). Half the power tools at HD are TTI, but they are still different brands whose differences are more than the color of plastic. Although, sometimes you do find some that are just a rebrand of the same product. Thats always funny. Red must be an expensive color! 🤣

    • @NickDoesThings-
      @NickDoesThings- Před 6 měsíci

      That is a nice feature. For some stupid reason, when I shot this video I did not realize that. I had just been flicking it open so I didn't catch it. I pinned a comment about it when I discovered it. It is a useful feature of the Klein for sure!

  • @BruceAllgire
    @BruceAllgire Před 6 měsíci

    That one bit looks like a PlusMinus/Pozidriv and looks almost like a Combination tip used in in the US in electrical outlets, panels, etc. I'd be interested to see if that would work. Couldn't quite tell from the video if it might work.

    • @NickDoesThings-
      @NickDoesThings- Před 6 měsíci

      It will sort of work, but not well. You would be better off just using a square or slotted. However, Wiha does make a tip for that exact fastener you are referencing. But it is only sold in American markets. So because I purchased this from Europe, it was not included. I did order one on Ebay though. I might make a short follow-up to this video talking about these tools after a bit of use.
