Does the x20 send power and cadance like a power meter to bike computers?

How to customize when to switch between the main and the external battery? For example when external is below 20% then switch to internal battery. What is the default setting?

I am not able to click on Smart Assist mode. What can I do? I have X35.

What does the red button in middle of home page do. Down the bottom. Makes sense it turns on your ride when you get going but Abi always get back with no info. Maybe it turns on automatically and I am turning it off when I start.

According to my experience, the auto assist based on the pulse rate is not precise. I can adjust the maximum pulse rate. Let's say I take 150. But made the experience that motor assistancea is going to start much much lower. Even as low as hundred or 110 foot rate I think the idea should be to start motor assistance at maximum pulse rate.

The worst short videos I ve seen so far. What is the message here? Why are there no explanations, starting from the basics? This is true for pulsar one video and the app videos as well. What a missed chance to get happy customers.

Hello, I have tried contacting Mahle via email but had no reply for weeks. There is an issue with my X20 motor hub where the power assistance is not being delivered correctly. It is cutting out and kicking back in. You can hear it clearly in this video I uploaded. I only purchased the bike 6 months ago and it has less than 100 miles on it (blame british weather!). Why did you removed the drinking/eating notification?

My wife has 3 Bianchi bikes with MAHLE X35 systems. She loves them! The only issue we've had was some spoke breakage on one bike's rear wheel. Based on her experience I bought an MAHLE X20 equipped gravel bike for myself. Barely 1000 kms on it so far but it rides like a normal bike at 0 assist level but when I'd shift down to the "granny gear" on my old road bikes, I just move the assist to level 1 with X20 instead. I still get a good workout and enjoy the ride, but I always know I'll make it back home if it I overdo it.

When can we connect our apple watch with the app? Not everyone can or want to buy a 300$ watch.

I am facing a critical issue with my Rose Reveal E-Bike equipped with the Mahle X20 motor. During a software update, my system crashed due to a Bluetooth error. The bike is now stuck in update mode, with the status LED consistently showing purple at around 10-20%. Occasionally, the LED blinks black and then reverts to the purple state. By pressing the power button for an extended period, I can turn off the bike. However, holding the button down again turns it back on and returns it to the purple status. Unfortunately, I am unable to connect my smartphone to the bike as well

Hi! I have just got a new E-bike and while it's been charging for a few hours, the app still shows battery as 0%. Is that normal, or is there an error? I don't want to unplug yet to find out because I know I need to let it charge for several hours before I can ride it (I had an Error 194 when I first switched it on).

Why can’t you sell the required cable to the public to allow them to update the bike rather than all the hassle of taking the bike to a dealer that may be many miles away?

Error 201 😂 If it’s as poor as the X35 range extender you will have a lot of returns. The X35 range extender battery is almost impossible to disassemble to allow repair by a third party.

My Mahle e bike app now opens in Japanese instead of English. How do I reset to English.

Still having trouble updating my Scott E ride with X20. You can’t do this upgrade unless the last old system update is done. That’s the problem I can’t update it. The US customer service hasn’t been able to assist me to update. I’ve contacted Mahle twice about it no response at all. Mahle customer service is non existent. I love the Scott but Mahle not so much.

Mahle, please explain how 23 Nm of torque is greater than the X35s, it does sound like a marketing gimmick. Also which bikes will we see it o in 2024?

I had the same problem. You may have sorted it now. It occurs when the battery is fully charged with the X35 system, and needs a firmware upgrade ( a dealer-only job) to fix. However, if you can reduce the battery charge level to 96% or less, the bike will work OK. I connected mine to the phone app for about 10-12 hours, which did reduce the charge enough for the pink flashing light to stop. Now awaiting a proper firmware upgrade by a dealer - only charging to 75% at present.

Mahle have a section on their website on updating x35 systems, yes you have to have the expensive cable or pay a dealer to do it. I`m waiting for my cable to arrive…

We have experience with the Mahle hub based system. 2 bikes with this system have had failures of the free hub and this is both expensive and requires special tools to change. Another downside is that you are stuck with the wheels fitted to the bike when you buy it. I have now opted for the Pinnarello Nitro crank based system. It is fabulous, light and very aero. Non of the above problems apply and it also provides data on cadence and my power metering to my head unit.

Little design suggestion...rather than having to take whole bar system apart including bar tape off to allow this units mount onto the bars just hinge it like Garmin mounts.

My X35 motor really struggles on steep hills climbs, such as 10%+ & i feel you have to keep your cadence quite high to keep the power output high enough to help you up. So it's definitely got a sweet spot in terms of rider input.

What Mahle refuses to say is how it compares to their old X35 which has a 40Nm, while the X20 has a torque of 23Nm !!! Tried to have more clarity from Mahle but they keep avoid to answer with facts/numbers. Just be aware of that as they trying to sell less efficient motors as better ones...this is close to misleading the customer by lying to them concernkng power. They could just be honest and say that they have 2 different systems, one lighter with half the torque but smoother behavior(X20), and second one with higher power but less smooth (X35). BTW I'm sure that the numbers behind names relates directly to torque values of the models 😅
