This time, I am not running the lights, my lighting assistant Anthony will be controlling and making the atmosphere for this high school's senior prom....

The wall panels look great, The whole lighting rig needs an upgrade for large venues such as this. Ils bars can staynin bars and back yards. They are simply too small and not bright enough for the venue. The panels overpower anything else in that light rig.
Have fun at DJX! I look forward to seeing all the new stuff and hearing your thoughts!
Can’t wait
Sweet sweet lighting 🚨 hope you bring home some new toys from AC!
Definitely a few for sure!
Hi. I just bought two ils 160 intimidator moving heads. Do I need (2) d-fi usb sticks to run both of them or just one usb stick? Thanks for your help
If you want to run them wirelessly then you’ll need two dfi usb sticks. If you have one dfi usb stick you’ll have to use a dmx cable and dmx out from the first mover to the second. Honestly best bet, have two dfi usb sticks
Glad I found your channel! Looking forward to more content
Anything in particular your looking at?
@@lightinginventory the video walls are sick, would love content on your setup for it, including hardware used and brainstorming process.
@@djromantics518 I can probably do that. It was a simple setup to extent. Resolume was used for the video wall for programming and content.
What bar is that?
Colorband Pix ILS
Hi, do all the different ILS fixtures go through the same channel on the ILS command or do the ILS pars, derby ect have their own channels. I'm planning to do this wireless. cheers,
Each ILS fixture has a dfi USB in them. Pars will work when you select pars, no matter how many you have, they will all do the same thing. The command will know if you are talking to a moving head or a derby fixture. BUT you CANNOT have multiple par lights on different channels. That would fall into the dmx world where you address each light to a dmx address. ILS is all on one wireless dfi channel.
What if we want the different par fixtures to be different colors?
Select the pars to be ILS1 and the rest of the pars to ILS2.
Only one dmx out?
Sadly yes. So only one universe of DMX
@@lightinginventory Should be at least two to make split runs easier
@@raggaroaringsound I 100% agree with you. Or having a second universe of dmx
it is weird when ILS was released the creator of the concept called it Integrated Lighting System, and that is how Chauvet marketed it for years, now they call it Instant Lighting System.
Instant light show 😎
what is Fat32
In short, its a 32 bit version protocol for saving data/info to a hard drive. Just a format version
Thanks for this!! Just bought the Move + with command controller, but master dimmer slider doesn’t seem to have any effect, but “speed” slider to the left of it seems to change dimmer values but only like 150 down to 40 or so… anything I might be doing wrong?
Make sure both the command and GBM+ILS is up to date on it's firmwares. Also if you are on Facebook, join our Chauvet DJ ILS group.
@@lightinginventory thanks, I joined the group. It turns out the command unit had a “bad solder,” so I returned and exchanged and now it’s all set 100%. Thanks!
Glad to hear it’s all sorted out now!
Messy looking thing
Hi. Can you add Chinese moving heads to the program.
Probably but you’ll need to build the profile unless they have similar dmx attributes.
Ok, how do I do a basic setup using cables? I just got four of those slims for my school and the controllerbut it won't respond and take control of the lights.
You’ll want to daisy chain the fixtures together. Cable out of the ILS output from the command to your first light. Cable out of the dmx out of fixture one to the second fixture, dmx in. Repeat that till you have them connected. Set the fixtures in ILS mode 1,2,3 or 4. You should then have control of the fixtures. If not, lmk

is there a way to limit the movers so they dont hit the audience in the face, or does it just go at random
You could limit the movement on Chauvet DJ fixtures on the actual fixtures but I would have to see if that feature exists
What do you need to do as far as the dmx fixture setup? Anything special or just a certain channel? Can you chain 10 par lights together and plug dmx cable in and break them up into primary and secondary?
You can. Best to address each par light and input that into the program so that you have a better looking light show
hmmm... wish to have seen more detail how to input or add fixtures and create a few scenes or programs, but at least we can get t see how the layout of windows are set up. not bad, I like how they set buttons for fog, strobe, blind. but as I say I would love to see a more in deep how to set up 4 or 8 fixtures and have the AI run them to the beat of a populat song...
A great channel is stage lighting, David does a good job showing how it all works or the Maestro DMX channel will probably have some videos on how to do it. I wanted to showcase the platform and how it’s not all about plug and play.
Does this work with ADJ WIFLY par cans?
Probably. You'll need to look into the fixture library to see if they have it listed.
Kind of hoping for an exact answer. Dont want to purchase it and then its not have the option. I cant stand using IOS and my lights only seem to work with IOS. I need to find another way around it @@lightinginventory
It seems like you would still need do some fiddling with parameters if you want to change the look/colour scheme between songs. I currently use a LightShark LS-1 and this has the fantastic "executors" pages which I fill up with different looks for live music. It seems that Maestro could do with something similar to allow quick changes.
I agree with you. Still some fiddling around to do. That’s why I made this video in the first shipments that maestro dmx sent out (I was a kickstarter backer) and wanted people to know that it’s not all plug in play. There are still inputs and settings you still need to achieve
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s only those that back the kickstarter have gotten their devices and are the only ones posting anything on CZcams about them. We need UNBIASED reviews. This does not qualify. Until I’m sold with an unbiased review, I’ll stick with the trusty ADJ Wolfmix WMX1.
@Sticksentertainment- Sorry you feel that way. Back story- Yes I am a kickstarter backer but was not compensated to make or say anything about this product. I made this to show end users what you are looking at getting into. Not every tool out there needs to be purchased but some more than others help make the job easier used in the right show. The reason you are seeing ONLY backers posting is because Maestro did one initial run of production and then did a presale once it was officially hitting the market. "Us" backers waited awhile for this to get developed. While I own a Maestro DMX box, I also have the wolf mix, ILS command, Showxpress, Chamsys MQ70 & an Onyx NX4 console, each tool for different applications. The purpose of my video was to show the backend side of how this program works because I felt the company didn't show a lot of information about this. Thanks for watching!
@@lightinginventory Thank you for the video. Maybe you can help me out, out of all the devices, which one would you recommend if someone wants the simplest way of achieving this: 1) sound to light 2) custom color palette for different fixtures 3) limiting area of movement of the moving heads?
I had a quick question recently purchased ils command but I’m having trouble connecting it to my kinta FX ils . Do I need the DFI - USB still ?
Hey @kokoe79 You will need one of these options. The DFi USB stick, the DFi XLR receiver or a simple DMX cable that runs from your ILS command to the Kinta FX ILS. Do you have the DFi USB stick? If so make sure your USB stick matches the same DFi channel as your Command and you should be good to go from there!
I have 4 DFI USB sticks do I still need a transmitter stick ?
@@kokoe79 Nope, BUT you do need to make sure your command is transmitting the desired channel, lets say channel 16. You'll need to set your USB sticks to the dip switch of channel 16 to receive that. Once you have both the command and USB stick transmitting/receiving channel 16 you'll be set.
Hi, How close could it be to the outcome similar to Transmission festival?
VERY far away from that
Not close at all
Thanks for the video. You just sold me on not buying this thing! I thought it was easier than what you just presented!
Glad to help. It’s the reality of the device
So it’s not really ai since you have to do a lot of input
🤷♂️ talk to the owners of the product about that!
And is the going to tell me it’s plug and play or you have to input information and programming to get it to work. I’ll stick to Sound Switch 1000% better
This isn’t AI, AI would plug in recognise all your fixtures or of unknown would work out the dmx parameters. Then it would just be a case of maybe 3 buttons like calm, middle and full on. Even that wouldn’t be needed with Ai as it would detect from the song. This isn’t much different from lightrider. I’ve been chipping in to their kickstarter. Within 18 months someone will have produced an iPhone app with simple dmx interface that will be AI
Thanks for the watch!
I bought this because I have no knowledge of DMX. I just wanted an AI plug and play device to control my lights. I guess I will have to return it since I have no time to figure out all of the software parameters.
Thanks for the watch
What is the current wait time for product, do you know? Also dont worry about the haters man, good video that was very informative about what REALLY is going on behind the lights.
I unfortunately don’t. I was a kickstarter backer and that was like last year or maybe even two years ago now. But I know that was when they were developing and producing the product. I’m sure it’s probably a couple weeks to order to then get in hands
So to be controlling the device my PC needs to be connected to that device own wlan? What about I need to be connected to wlan with internet connection (because of the the Tidal e.g.)? That's no can do.. With the other solution you're mentioning the external control panel makes more sense. Or if you don't control the maestro during the show, that's probably ok, but is that even possible.. Just wondering, not trying to be negative. :)
Totally get what your saying. So here is how I understand it… connect a computer to maestros network protocol which will then get you to the BTS look to allow you to patch fixtures, decide how you want to run your lights and then you can reconnect to your internet/hotspot to run Tidal. Pretty much getting on their own network allows you to patch everything and set things up for your light show, so the program knows what fixtures are there and how many. I haven’t tried this yet but I’ve thought about having my iPad connected to maestros network to have some extra controls just in case. Mind you I’m coming from a background that I usually have some type of hardware controller near by to control my lights. Thanks for the watch!
8 days ago FRESH OFF THE FEDEX TRUCK AND NOTHING TO SHOW.....
Maestro has plenty of videos of them showing the lights going with the box. My intent was to show what the back end side of the program was and show that it’s not a true plug in play system and it gives you the ability to patch and customize some parameters of the program. Thanks for the watch.
@@lightinginventory well at least paste some video links to those videos, people like to see the lights in action not just how you fiddle with the GUI
not one sec of working footage what a waste of time
That's what I was waiting for...a little demo, perhaps. No worries, I just got a ship notice - will test next week!
He just made sure I'm not purchasing this one. Talking about nothing.
@@DJQUAD1000 dont say that just cause he didnt do any display of the unit . it works i havent got mine yet still shipping over here but i have seen lots of working demos now of the unit
Working footage can be seen from maestro themselves. They didn’t show the back end side of how to patch and customize your light show. That was the real question for many kickstarter backers and others who purchased this after Maestros marketing campaign. Lights will run their cues, it’s the setup and execution part that people don’t take in consideration when buying a product. It’s not just a plug and play unit. Thanks for watching
Thank you for saving me 10 minutes!
So is there a way to program a fixture not in the list?? Say a custom made fixture thats just RGB lights?? Or cheap chinese lights that wouldnt be on the list?
Yup! There is an option under the fixture profile tab to do just that
@@lightinginventory sweet! Ive been looking at getting one for my band but wanted to see how the first batch went before i ordered 1.
Mine is with me on Monday. I've used Soundswitch since it came out and love it. Hoping this fills in the gaps for me when I'm feeling lazy. Not plug n play ..... But looks at little easier to get into than SS is.🤔
Same. I should have purchased SS originally but didn’t have the cash. If this works well I’ll drop SS but might just buy the black Friday deal and keep SS. We’ll see next week when mine comes.
From the looks, I can see the promoting of “plug and play” but I do like that you can do more customization to the lights and show. I would say easier than SS just with my fiddling around with it, without Maestro’s videos on how to’s
very cool!
Thanks for the watch
Excellent unboxing/first thoughts review!
Glad you liked it!
Mine’s coming next week. Can’t wait.
What was your wait time? Did you preorder?
Did yours finally come in? What are your thoughts???
I must have all of this.
This would step up your performance! Quick and easy!
So what would be the best way to control an entire room of these? I don’t want to set 20 of them manually.
DFi hub and a lighting console or lighting program

Thanks
do these remember their master/slave settings or do you have to reset and repair every time you use them?
They remember lead/follow (Master/slave).
Let’s see it on sound switch
Unfortunately I don't have/use sound switch
DUDE! Super helpful
Thanks!
Appreciate the video! Do I need to have the lights on (like an auto mode) or something so they are lit up while I am changing the modes?
When I’m programming them for M/S the lights are on the last state they were running. (I.E- solid color or auto mode) and then I set them up for M/S.
Red, blue, green, white. 🤦♂️
+ Color temperatures ranging from 2800k-6100k
Looks good and great suggestions, thank-you!
Your welcome!
I just ordered 2 packs coming in a few days, cant wait to try them out :) using mostly for uplighting purposes
How are you liking them so far?
@@lightinginventory They are actually super nice, battery life can improve but overall i give a A-
I'm down the road from you in Columbus. Solid video man!
What about used Lighting gear. More than 60% of my lights are purchased used from third-party (OfferUp, Craigslist, etc) How do I protect them? How will my insurance cover them?
Definitely consult with your insurance agent to see what you need to provide them. Usually you’ll need receipts of the sale or some just need what you paid for the lights. Again, I’m no insurance company/agent so check with them. I personally have purchased used gear that is currently covered under insurance. Of course label and mark down fixtures and document everything
💘
Thanks
