Hi everyone! I'm Clyde, former owner, and operator of Vibrant Soap. I'm refocusing on a broader focus on all things vibrant. What hasn't changed is my love for beauty, nature, cultures, and creativity. I love photography, mostly because I love to capture images as seen through my eyes and camera lens and I want to share that with you. I'm still interested in the process of soap-making, so I know I may want to dabble in a bit of soap-making again.
So this channel is my way of staying in touch with those who have followed me through my creative journey so far. I'm excited that our lives are what we make of them. What I'm going to do is make time to paint and draw again. I was so immersed in soap-making for the last 10 years that I had very little creative time for anything other than soap. So, I'm refocusing but still value my followers. I hope you will stiff follow me and I'd love to hear from you too. Take care, everyone!

A Trip to Berlengas Island
We're always amazed at the local places of interest in Portugal. While we enjoy our European international travels, there's much to explore in our neck of the woods. Our friend arranged a group day trip to Berlengas Island. Until her invitation to join, I only knew that it existed as a rocky mass visible from the Peniche Peninsula when we were there last year. The place reminds me of the videogame Myst with its intriguing combination of outcroppings in a watery world and human-made structures. The place had an interesting past of religious practitioners, pirates, and royal entanglements.
As you will see in the video, the island is easily accessible by boat excursions that depart from the coastal city of Peniche, which is about an hour and a half drive north of Lisbon. From Peniche, you can take a day cruise to the island by ferry. Once you're on the island, you can hike and explore on your own, as long as you stay on designated trails. This is for your own safety and to protect the native habitats. There are some treacherous areas that you should be aware of. Watch your step! The island offers beautiful views of the rock formations,, crystal clear waters, natural vegetation, and the lighthouse. The highlight was the Fort of São João Baptista and the glassbottom boat cruise to see the Berlengas rocky coast and sea caves. Although you have the option to explore on your own, we learned a lot about the island's features and history from our guide Paolo.

The Falkirk Wheel, Tamfourhill/Falkirk, Scotland.

The Falkirk Wheel is a unique transport system that elevates and lowers boats between the Forth and Clyde, and Union Canal. The process takes 5 minutes to move boats from one canal to another. Before the 1930s, the canals used to be connected. The wheel is only 15 minutes away from The Kelpies, so it's easy to see both when you visit the area. A drive back to Edinburgh is about an hour's drive.

It was a fun escape to the green countryside outside Pitlochry, Scotland. The competitors and spectators took the rain in stride. It is certainly a fun competition. We watched while sipping our hot coffee and enjoyed the people and dog watching. Pitlochry is a beautiful city, about an hour and a half drive north from Glasgow.

We had just left our Airbnb in Sevilla when a thunderous sound of drums pierced the air in the distance. Other people took notice too. As we approached the sound, the crowds thickened. A commentary would have been useful together with more about life on board. What are the cabins like? Ditto the food ie a sample menu. Were the excursions well organised? Good points and bad points of the whole trip. Too much footage in the dark which doesn't show, or tell, us anything.
Thanks, Judith. Sorry that I lost my voice when editing. In hindsight, now that you brought this to my attention, I wish I had provided more information about what you wanted to hear. I saw some other Clipper videos and decided to do more visual production this time. I will send you a link to the Royal Clipper website so you can read more about it. Suffice it to say, we've traveled on other cruise companies and this one spectacularly wins on all counts. The food was excellent and the crew was spectacular. I can't really say that there were any bad points. The few excursions we took were good, but mostly, we loved the time to wander the stops by ourselves. I can't wait to take another cruise with this company. It also pays to do your homework online and try to avoid high tourist seasons. For example, Dubrovnik was too crowded to enjoy. Regarding crowds, the Royal Clipper's passenger capacity is 227 which means everyone can disembark much faster than the larger cruise ships. These sailing ships can also dock much closer to many of the stops so we were able to get into town much sooner than the big ships that were also visiting. www.starclippers.com/us-dom/our-fleet/tall-ships/introducing-royal-clipper.html

Well, well, well, Hello there! We spent some time in Scotland and loved every moment there. We've been living in Portugal for almost two years. It's a great home base for us, at least for European travel. It's a short jump to Spain and the trip to Scotland is under 3 hours. We're looking forward to future travels too. Hope you're doing well! Someday. It's definitely on our list after having such a beautiful visit to the area. The extent of our eastern part of the trip was Edinburgh, but we are going to see more of the eastern side next time. You live in such a beautiful area.
Highland games are my favorite sport. I personally am from the Czech Republic, where countless Highland games are held and I am lucky enough to almost always attend them. I am very pleased that many people like you are also interested in these games.
I can see why it's a favorite of yours. Competing with your personal best in the games is an aspect of competing. What I loved the most was that so many young participants were interested enough to keep the traditions alive.
