A quick 2-3-4 pull on a beautiful sunday morning, this 34 year old machine is still rocking the stock turbos with 180k. Recently completed compression/leak down test, the 120k timing kit, gas tank was cleaned and retuned by Sebastian at Specialtyz.🤘🏽

Sup guys back again with another under the influence video, i apologize for all the verbal errors on some of the parts mentioned in this video. However, never seen any video on youtube on what modification is needed on the HR rail to fit the VHR rail so i decided to make one real quick, hope you guys like it! Sup youtube friends in this video i go through the process of completely taking out the HICAS system in a 90-93 300zx twin turbo, only other thing i could of done to get rid of the return line was remove the pump and modify it, however it was easier to just loop the return back to the reservoir for the time being. 350z Cruise Control Install for Uprev ARC

just going over the Cruise Control Retrofit kit install on my Base 350z HR, best thing you can give a tuned Z on Uprev to utilize ARC. I apologize for my breathing that can be heard in the video as i was utilizing a mouth mount for the camera. Hope this video helps out fellow Z owners! thanks for watching!

      @@JamieGuzmam thank you! Its only around 450whp and a little over 500ft-lbs of torque with tired old stock turbos around 22psi(GreddyProfec).

    Been years but great video. Did you have any problems afterwards, deleting that connector and just hooking the line straight to reservoir at the end of the video?

      @@aarongraybeal5503 lets just say alot has transpired in those last 3 years in my personal life and family life and just cant catch a break financially with the legal system lol. Aside from the personal stuff, the HR was state reffed while driving normal taking my dog to her appointment for being too loud lol. That finally got dismissed April 19th. I was staying lowkey with the car stuff while the state ref was being taking care of by my lawyer, Covid slowed the process down forsure. I did get a new Z so when i make an update video ill touch up on all the aforementioned a bit, the status on the Z’s etc.. Im glad i was able to help you with the HICAS line. I have so many deletes on the z32, ive probably removed over 200+ pounds lol

    you add a single turbo to these cars and they will beat almost anything on the road and still be reliable, very strong motors just keep the oil in them.

    Nice!! I have a 91 TT with all bolt ons, bigger turbos, 555 injectors and Godspeed intercoolers. I had it tuned at Z1.I just got it running again for the first time in about 7-8 years, I can’t wait to start gapping cars like this again 😂😂

    I have a 08hr sedan but man I don’t think this has the potential of the hr 350z 🥲 but I’ll eventually try to turbo myn still running well at 200,000 miles 😂😂 the funny part is I have raced charger rt and scat pack on the street and from 0-60 at least I always take em 😂

    I have someone in my town selling both VHR upper and lower for $185 which he lowered the price from $400. So I'm wondering if it's really going to be worth it? I mean that price is kinda too good to be true but sometimes you never know. Is there a way to tell the HR and VHR upper and lower apart from each other?

    If you add turbo you're going to have to do this again and put in short tubes. Or you might as well never put in turbo. Has to do with the backflow ruining the flow of exhaust etc

    Damn i was just thinking of going with Ported Upper/lower Hr plenums but looking at the commenst i guess you get the same gains with both right? But just with the Vhr Upper/lower plenums it holds power until Redline? I think the 6whp you gained was from the PPE Headers and not so much the Plenums but idk really haha i only say that because 6-8whp gains is what i usually see from longtube headers

      I would agree on the 6-8whp gained from the longtubes, the plenums VHR plenums i believe help keep peak power until redline. Combination of parts also makes a difference as well.

      Look into Nisformance extensions for longtube headers. Best in the market.

      Its a bigger upgrade for the HR motors since the HR plenum isnt as good on top end as the VHR plenum. So you will get gains doing both upper/lower, however its up to you if you want to spend the money or port them yourself.

    I think u used the wrong headers Those differences in diameters make a huge difference. Where is the dyno? It is a waste of money to spend $2000 and only gain 6whp.

      I dont have the dyno video but i do have the sheet. I did use DE longtubes as i stated in the video. And the diameter was still larger than oem manifolds plus better runners and collector regardless. It isnt always about peak gains, its gains throughout the powerband. Mind you, before the longtubes, i already had this car tuned FBO with the exception if throttle bodies and cams. No longtube header is going to give you crazy gains after that UNLESS you do longtubes first. Would i buy PPE’s again? No, i think you can get the same gains with ISR longtubes, all depends on the combination of bolt ons. The car is sitting at 320whp/267wtq. Im happy with that.

    sick video bro, quick question though I just bought dc shorty headers for my HR, I already have berk non res test pipes, megan y pipe and a single exit exhaust. I’m getting the car tuned in a couple months, it’s running good now. Should I wait to install the headers when I get my tune or can I run with shorty headers and no tune for a couple months?

      I would install shorty headers and get the car tuned with all the parts installed. You can drive the car with aftermarket parts and no tune, but its always better to get a tune right after installing all of your aftermarket parts.

    Quick question, so I got my base 350 tuned with uprev and ark and have about 5 maps on there. I don’t have the cruise control buttons on my wheel so I can’t switch maps. Since my 350z is already tuned can I just add the buttons and it would work? Thanks guys

      I got another 6 whp, however that was with the addition of PPE longtube headers. I had test pipes on stock manifolds prior. So after the 370z upper/lower ported plenums and PPE headers the difference was another 6 whp and top end power went from falling off at 6900rpm to holding max whp all the way to redline at 7500rpm. Your combination of parts and tuner will yield different results as well. Car is at 320whp/267torque. Stock cams, stock drivetrain.

      @@ryanscanlan9875 yes only 6whp gain, however the PPE’s really cleaned up the graph and torque kicks in quick and top end just keeps going. Im sure if i had another tuner that “pushes” the limit for clout #’s it would of made more. However, im happy with my tuners been with them for a long time, my single turbo kit actually comes in today so the PPE’s will be for sale.

      All the breather mods, boost controller on stock turbos and E85, in this run i was around 16-18psi i believe.

      No sir it doesnt, its easier if you remove the intake/intercooler hoses/vac/boost lines and remove radiator, plenty of room then, the radiator can stay in, but since its so easy to remove i personally remove it, perfect time for a coolant flush🤷🏽‍♂️

      @@F30caleb the metal hoses that go into the throttle bodies are coolant lines that run hot coolant through the TB’s to help them function during colder weathers, but are a common delete for HR’s. I have the delete on mine where i re-routed the coolant lines so i have nothing going through the throttle bodies. With that being said, the HR and VHR should have a similar throttle body coolant line system. It can be deleted and re-routed or hooked up the same way.

      @@divahairline Any 370z/G37(VHR) plenum will fit the HR model, but you also need the lower plenum and fuel rail so it all bolts up correctly and modify the fuel line like i do in the video. One other note, some intake manifolds come with longer bolts, mainly the newer models, so if you get a used plenum, make sure you also get the bolts it came with.

      No throttle bodies are the same i believe, i have HR throttle bodies and fits like oem. Might as well get GTR injectors and run E85.

    I definitely recommend anyone else reading this to take off the steering U-joint too (as he showed). You don't need to take the rack off, just 2 x 12mm bolts on the joint but paint mark the rack/blue plastic thing/U-joint in a line FIRST ! If yours is like my one, WD40 the threads, pry open the joints and it WILL eventually go upwards and it'll just give you that little extra clearances you need.

    ik that’s the stock speedometer and the tt z32 has a post gauge under the mph (like the oil is under the rpm) and in this vid i couldn’t see any kind of gauge it ain’t tt

      @@lajoya9002 when it did 314whp i was around 50k. At around 52k i went back with longtubes and got 320whp peak but gained alot more along the power band.

    Yo followed these steps and had no issues other then my o2 sensors being melted on the threads did it in 4 hours 👌 make sure to buy a 1/2 flex head or 3/8 flex head extended if your gona try this
