Using a crankcase installer/ crank puller tool
I'm rebuilding my kx125 so thought I'd do a quick video on using a crankcase installer/ crank puller tool. The one I'm using is a tusk one which was imported from America with a crankcase splitter, I'll leave a link for the motion pro tool. Thanks for watching any feedback much appreciated

Loctite 638 retaining compound for crank bearings???
zhlédnutí 22KPřed 4 lety
My main crank bearings have started to spin in the cases so I'm trying the retainer in the hope it will solve the problem 🤞. Never used the retainer before so I don't know if it's going to work or not. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B073JF6Y7V/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_dxG4EbED8S6AR

Just finished rebuilding my 1995 kx125 engine then realised I messed up😫. Not the end of the world though so I'm hopefully going to get around the problem. I think my new cases are from a 1992/93. Thanks for watching ✌

Hope this helps someone as with everything it's easier if you have the right tools, you can pick up these pullers for around £30 or if you know someone who works in a garage ask them if they can do it for you.
How to install crank bearings on a 2 stroke.
zhlédnutí 178Před 4 lety
Hopefully someone will find this helpful, I've seen videos of people using hammers to really whack the bearings in so I hope this will save a few engines. This is a new engine to me so I'm currently building it up to put in the bike I'll see if I can put some more videos up. Cheers

    Does it fasten it or just prevent shaking

      Not sure to be honest with you mate without looking into it but I would guess they'll be a different curing time or higher working temperature 👍

    Do you think this will keep my inner race from spinning on my ski doo pto bearing? Its a low mile sled but went to grease the pro and noticed the inner race moving.

    • @adamwallis2140
      @adamwallis2140 Před rokem

      Couldn't say 💯 to be honest depends what's taking most the load the inner or outer race? On mine the inner is taking majority of the load and I've glued the outer, if your inner race isn't supposed to spin an the outer is taking the load its definitely worth giving it a go. Mines still working a treat 👌. I've no experience with a skidoo though 🙆🏻‍♂️. Hope you get sorted 👍🏻

    If you need to remove the bearing in the future, will it still be pullable? Or is it glued tight

    • @petermelnikov682
      @petermelnikov682 Před 2 lety

      there is a loctite 641 that has medium strength, so you can remove it with manual tools

    • @LBCAndrew
      @LBCAndrew Před 2 lety

      Apply enough heat and it will come right out. Operating temperature of Loctite 638 is 180'C. So above that and it will begin to soften.

    • @dejv1111
      @dejv1111 Před 2 lety

      Yes, you can disassamble the bearing later. You have to heat up it with higher temperature.

  • @Jortsa
    @Jortsa Před 3 lety

    Nice video! Doesnt that puller put a lot of stress to that bearing because its pulling it from the outer brace and not from the inner one?

    • @adamwallis2140
      @adamwallis2140 Před 2 lety

      Hi mate thanks, I don't believe so as the bearings are already sat into the cases and all your doing is pulling the crank into the inner race of the bearing. I've never had a problem with a failed bearing doing it this way up to now 🤞👍🏻

    • @socks2441
      @socks2441 Před 2 lety

      not brace, 'race' ;) but yeah, i thought the same thing, since its not pressing against the inner race it puts lateral stress on the bearing, but i have heard they can tolerate well above the stress that puts on them without any damage, plus if a professional tool does it this way, im sure its fine.

      Agree. I have used 620 forever no issues. Loctite website even states for transmission housing bearing retention etc. Higher temperature resistance. 638 should work o.k. though.
