Our invitation is to renew spirituality and appreciation of the sacred within the world. This is both the challenge and the call of the new emerging church. In this liminal space, the fear of uncertainty draws us more closely into the shadows of the cross. It is where we belong, it is where we have always belonged. Dietrich Bonhoeffer himself scolded many a Christian who had found comfort in 'cheap grace'. There is nothing cheap or comfortable with living a life in touch with the divine.
