Yeah but a small block looks better sitting in an engine bay. No plastics all metal.

You're making a positive difference with your content.
I greatly appreciate the time you put in to these videos
I had two 1967's. I like the looks of the 1968 best of the first gen Camaro's. The 68's had improvements like multi-leaf rear springs. I like the high back head rest seats in the 69. I never drove a 68, so I can't comment on the how the Astro vents worked, but the 67 windows vents worked great for a personal breeze. Did the 68 Astro vents work as good as the window vents of 67?
Lawn mower motor same tech, except for the really new (for GM) 5.5 liter monster.
Darn, I must have missed out on the pre-sale. Good video. Subscribed
You forgot the TH200.... no, not the TH200-4R. I don't know what internals may have been shared, but the 200 non-OD transmission was a thing. We had one behind a 1983 307 Olds.
What happened to the 8L45 transmission?
They forgot the TH-200 Metric. 1976-1987
Great if you’re building a race / performance car . Not everyone is restoring a classic car for performance . A lot of the info in this video is great and all but very misleading .
LS4 was worst LS intake
Thank you for the Videos !!!! my project daily driver, 2005 2500hd 6.0 4L80E....

I hate active fuel management. Number 1 reason I'm swapping my 5.3 l83 for the l8t. F##k the epa!
czcams.com/users/shortsKckgICwx3lg?si=ul2dqL3Fbhz74SuX
The primary reason they went with multiple coil setup on the LS was to reduce ignition coil saturation. Which is the primary reason RPM was limited on factory stock SBCs; coil saturation.
#24 - Sensors of the LS. Although they provide much better engine management, they also add a massive layer of frequent failure points for these engines. Countless numbers of crank and cam position sensor failures, tank vent sensors, mass air flow sensors -> all conspire to make the reliability over time questionable.
The original TBI fuel delivery system on SBCs, with the exception of the Cross-Fire TBI, was rock SOLID in its reliability. Dead reliable. Period.
Narrator: “The serpentine system has only one belt” Proceeds to show picture of TWO-belt serpentine system. -> which, BTW almost ALL LS engines, up to a point, had a TWO belt system, not one.
#20 - SBC gaskets had one MAJOR advantage over LS gaskets. They weren’t subjected to the gasket deteriorating chemicals of DexCool, and therefore often lasted the entire life of the engine, not just 20,000 miles like the LS gaskets. Edit: The same cannot be said for the horrible SBC valve cover gaskets. Although the force spreaders the factory added later did help a tiny bit.
#20 No SBC mechanic in his right mind EVER used those intake end seals…. In fact, even the factory eventually stopped using them toward the end and started following the aftermarket’s suggestion of just using a bead of silicone.
…the hell are you talking about, “#18 - having to remove cylinder heads to remove camshaft on original SBC”? That’s ridiculously not true at all. You only had to pop off the intake (which is SUPER easy) to access the lifters.
Buick turbo 3.8 will leave both of them in the dust. Buick Grand National is the best sports car ever built
Th2004r went to 1990 and I'd like to see the Info on the th2004r ever being in a Corvette. Ive installed multiple 2004r's behind LS engines and work good. They can be built to hold over 700RWHP. Your info is funny.
You seem to have left out a lot of info. 2008 and 2015 Suburban engine?? Your info doesn't match what I have??
Another fantastic video!
Cannonball run?!
This is amazing!
Let's see a video about the new engine in the Corvette with flat plane crank duel vvt overhead cams compared to the Coyotes.
Common sense: "Light and agile is fun." Crusty buzzards in the comments: "We hate you."
9. Drum brakes develop a thick ridge that prevents you from getting them apart without a sledgehammer. And swearing. 10. Drums require adjustment 11. Adjustment requires key-hole surgery. 12. And doesn't work. 13. Star adjusters are the work of the Devil. 14. Drums develop weird issues (pulsating, grabbing, squeaking, etc.) that are difficult to diagnose or fix. 15. They weigh 10x as much as an equivalent disc setup. 16. No aftermarket support, and no performance options. 17. Much more expensive to replace than rotors 18. More difficult to turn. 19. Wheel cylinders leak frequently; right onto the braking surface. 20. Getting the right replacement wheel cylinder can be confusing. 21. Drums are more fiddly to service. 22. Drums use cone bearings, requiring messy re-greasing, unlike sealed cartridge bearings. 23. Drums look silly behind expensive wheels. 24. I hate them with a black passion.
