With the tackle s there's day when they do use this technique .and yes they don't no how to change to the otherside. Like Wayne said there is alot of niss tackle s with this technique and some looks like there is going to be a bad connection
Great drill and thanks for sharing.
Steve👍
I'm watching from zambia I like it I need to join
Love it
Nice
Great drills. It’s no wonder the AB’s display such good skills if this is what the kids are doing!
What a good coach
This is excellent
These drills will be excellent to improve the passing and catching skills of my u7 RL team, thank you 👍🏻
Really nice passing drills there. Nice and calm approach from the coach too
Boks were playing some pretty average rugby then
Thank you for the video, it was very helpful
Brilliant vid
Class.... Absolutely class.... Even now
100k views? Ridiculous! How many coaches aren't seeing this? They are missing out.
Can’t see the purpose of the bit at the front about putting adidas on Adidas and fern on fern when they don’t actually tackle like that in Union. The coach himself said referees will blow you up.. they are all hitting with the shoulder in the actual drills at waist and below. You can’t actually follow a player’s core who is going at speed and stepping.. one on one.. you’ll still get beat most of the time. Effective lone is flat and gang tackle is on. Overall a good video.
Its from 2012
He was just making a point to ensure that your body and head alignment were on the correct side of the attacking player so as to avoid head injuries. He progresses it to a low chop/cheek on cheek tackle.
drezitas ok respect , got it
scotts a real fungi
Great video helps the kids alot
Could you tell me how Can I contact this coach please?

Wanye West?
Fantastic ideas. Thanks for sharing
Excellent drills for younger children. Thanks
3:25 - random humping troll...:p
sharp backline! Any of these guys go on to a higher level?
this isn't for kids is it?
What you mean .... this is rugby if you cant tackle then it's pointless you need to know ways of tackling a quicker or larger player from other angles or even a player who is stepping
It's for anyone
do you know who wane smith is??????!!!! He Played for sumoa !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Played first five for the All Blacks and was a very good player also.
Was also back line coach for the All Blacks.
Aprendiendo a caer en un placaje y presentar el balos
That was really helpful thanks for the video
lol @ jonny cash haha yea wayne smith dont know shit ya reckon lolol
why should the loosehead bind 1st? Would have thought it was the tighthead prop?
Jim Gollan because the tight head will try to split the hooker and loosehead apart because he's on the outside of the scrum so he needs more grip and o hold on to but the tight is on the inside and will not split
@@benjamindunning4233 and he needs a little bit more slack to maneuver himself into a position to try split the opposite loosehead away or to put big pressure on the hooker. .

Why does he keep saying hard off the outside leg ? why does it matter outside or inside leg ?
+DEAN MURTEN I think Laurie's talking about the step in around the cone; push hard off the outside leg so you're square to the ruck, maximising your drive through and minimising the risk of being caught coming in from the side.
Off the anchor foot, shifting the weight before you dip. When you dip you lose all the power generated but if you execute as he addresses here you will have residual power for the dip and chase. Hope that helps
engagement cadence has changed but the fundamentals are much the same. Cron is the expert
FOR Warrington AGAINST Leigh Centurions...
Thanks this video was excellent.
the bro got ass in he facey
I don't agree at all with any drills that teaches kids to tackle over waste line. That allows the attacker to still move his legs. If the attacker is bigger or stronger this technic is absolutely wrong. You MUST tackle just above the knees to stop the legs from moving and be effective on bigger players than you.
thank you
Yes and no! Johnny do you have a nfl background? Because Rugby reason you tackle above the waist is not only are you tackling but also trying to prevent the ball from getting passed to the next available player, 'offloading'. Only time you go for the legs is if the attacker is too big and no match for you.
+Jonny Cash hes not saying to tackle above waste, only to watch just above the waste (the core) cause the core doesn't lie, feet and shoulders do. Watch the core and then you know where they are going. he always mentions cheek to cheek witch if you do then you will never be above the waste. Higher tackles are more used in sevens or in the backs for 15s when you are trying to stop the offloads.
tackling just above the knees will invite a knee in the face or shoulder. he best place to put a tackling shoulder is on or slightly below the belly button where attacking player will bend. it is the use of the arms wrapping and squeezing the legs that will slow them from moving, but the tackler has to be able to drive forward so leg position in the tackle is also key.
John, I was usually at least 30cm shorter than a target and the most effective target for me was just below the hip or right in the gut/solar plexus, usually from dummy half (yes different code, same principles). I had as many tackles as our forwards every game, sometimes more. Very effective.
