On the "fast forward to 23" etc. It did not even rhyme there and it still worked fabulously (also, as a side note, 23 apparently is the year '23, not any age 23)

I saw a video of Levon Helm talk about trigger words, but I'll say that Pau has said that since she's been singing since she started playing at age 6 that its second nature to her and just part of her DNA. As a working drummer for over 30 years who also sings backing vox, I'll say that this song is deceptively difficult to play and sing and is very impressive. She changes patterns 6 times, verse/chorus, verse/chorus, break and multiple fills. And that vocal figure with the build up on the crashes at the end,... OMG😮 She reminds me of me, 30 years ago. She's F'ing amazing! 🤟🤘🤟🤘

Phil. You have a beautiful ear.. wtf do I know. Anyway, Let me give a hint. Quit watching their videos and focus on there sound. Not their sight. Be safe, brother.

Pau’s voice has never struck me as smoky or sultry (whereas I’ve heard those qualities in Ale’s voice on the rare occasions she steps to the front). But she’s great at conveying desperation, anger, or pleading. For that reason, most of the Warning songs I’ve found the most moving are sung by Pau. On another note, I appreciate the explanation of how one might use trigger words in constructing a song. That makes a lot of sense.

I can't recommend "Sharks" from the Pol'and'Rock show enough. The Wacken one had some audio issues on the stream that were fixed for the Poland one. The live performance is so much better than the studio version, I'm obsessed.

Not convinced by the "drum while singing" analysis. This a relatively slow ballad, and you can't really appreciate her technique here. Disciple is a different beast altogether. I mean, i guess this analysis comes only from a guitarist perspective and it's not even taking into consideration the breathing. Dont worry, i like your videos still but you didn't demystify anything. 😂

They are just absolutely amazing and killing it i love to see it, and honestly they inspire me and motivate me more than anyone else. They are my favorite band i love them. And You Phil bring a informative view and cover them real well and notice a lot of details that i didn't and many others im sure. But they continue melting me to the floor i love them!! i want to be myself but i want to be like them when i grow up lol.

To both play, AND sing at a high level, is where she and Dani both shine. “Dust to Dust” is great. Dani on “Satisfied”. Killah!!

They have sooo many different sounds ,while still sounding uniquely like The Warning. “Revenant” is another “Pau” masterpiece ⚡️✨ 🤘🕊❤️🤘

You aren't wrong that they are good at writing to make things easier for themselves. But they also tend to write themselves into corners sometimes and have to really do some special stiff to make it work. As you mentioned, Pau in Disciple with that crazy fill while she is singing. Dany frequently ends up having to play complicated riffs that in no way match up with the lyrics she is singing. As a matter of fact, that is how Pau ended up singing the verses in Sharks. The guitar and bass parts are too complicated for the others to sing so it ended up being Pau.

I think "23" refers to 2023, the year Pau turned 21, "barely old enough to drink ".

I love Pau, but I just can't get past the backing vocals From Danny in this song.

Am I the onliest one? But Pau hits me with this song so heavy, anytime i listen too it, it really touches something deep inside me.

I think a part of Pau's exaggerated movements is because she's onstage. She's literally posing for the audience and the cameras. She's mentioned in the past that she's more theatrical in her playing when in front of an audience than when practicing at home. While I think that was always innate to Pau it was also emphasised when they went to Berklee.

The Warning normal uptempo rock is what we live on. The Pau ballads are just the cherry on top. I get a bit emotional every time I hear 23. If I am lucky, I will get to hear it live in person. I have been waiting for this one! It's such a great example of Pau's emotional, vulnerable vocals, and it has a different vibe from everything else on the Error album.
