For our 2019 Legacy 2.5L, I noticed that the suggested repair didn't work on the passenger side unless you are actually seated in the passenger seat with the door shut (I tried to reach over the console rather than run around like he did, to no avail) ... and it took a couple of tries to figure this out, haha. Also, even though the driver's side does work as he noted (while holding the button), the quick one-press "auto-up" and "auto-down" feature did not work even after I tried to reset it; however, after shutting the driver door, making sure I was seated properly, and then repeating the process, everything worked just fine ... it took me a couple of tries to figure this out too, haha. I speak for many people here who may have freaked out after replacing their battery and noticing this issue: "Thank you very much for the helpful video!" You saved me a trip to the dealer and some $$$$.

2018 wrx, disconnected the battery after a boost issue. Also the auto feature didn’t work for the drivers side window as well. Thanks, but as mentioned : this could have been a 20 second video.

I can roll passenger window down from drivers side but not passengers side.

This seems like a very helpful video that usually fixes although it didn’t fix mine. The passenger window still is not operable from the drivers seat and only operable from the passenger seat side. I don’t know what to do

I just had my battery replaced today and went to open the passenger window to get my daughter’s attention but it wouldn’t go down. I’ve been dealing with a series of issues with my car and am finally getting it all fixed up and then thought I just discovered a whole new problem. Just picked up my new 2024 Outback Limited and love it but no initially in love with the Lane Assist thing. With the hands in the steering wheel it feels like it's constantly wandering back and forth in a freeway lane

Worked like a charm. Even on the keyless entry, single press until your dash fully lights up, went window by window for passenger and rear. All working now 👍👍

Fix worked! Recently we replaced dead battery in my 2017 Forester and I was beginning to think the passenger window switch on the driver's side was broken because it stopped working. Your video saved me a trip to get this fixed! Thank you!

2019 Outback. Must hold switches down & up for TEN SECONDS.

2019 Outback. About a month ago the front passenger power window became inoperative from both switch points. Totally dead. Then the battery died at home in our garage. Replaced the battery and had the problem described on this video. Window operation is now back to normal THANK YOU! Maybe the loss of window operation is an early warning of battery failure. If you experience this issue, have the battery tested before you get stuck somewhere. We love this car!

Do I leave the screw driver in the hole the whole time or just when I’m shifting it into neutral. I guess I’m looking for a further explanation of the process, just to be sure it is just like a lever in there to push or is it a stopper of some sort?

Why does this happen? What is the root cause? I understand _when_ it happens (the battery is dead, whatever) but WHY does it do this? Did they make the windows work on some wireless standard now? And it needs to be re-pair'd like a Bluetooth connection would need? Why? Is this happening ? What is different from a car from 1996?

Hill holder indicator light doesn't go off. is this a problem?

This video was perfect. Fixed my issue with no questions. The same process applies to reapplying auto-up/down for both passenger and driver’s side following the battery disconnect. Thank you.
