Wow....Amazing art. So beautiful.
Amazing!! This find your channel was by a fluke and im so happy I finally found someone to teach me how to make an amazing nebula painting. Iam using the acrylic paint and its starting to look pretty amazing. Thank you so much
Reference link doesn't work:(
What does it mean - water soluble oil paint? :D I heard first time about it
It's an oil paint that has been modified so that you can use water as a solvent, like turpentine, mineral spirits, etc.
Use rubber do details in the oil?
Thanks for this tutorial. The link to the reference image doesn't work though. Seems there is an error in the provided URL.
I need a longer ruler lol, this was amazing! I really wanted to start drawing Star Wars ships in perspective and this was a great guide
Then when you turn off the video it does something and does something else! This fuking video!
i hate you, your video is garbage
✋ P r o m o S M
You are so nice to drawing that
I know that this video is quite a few years older, but could you add in which pencil numbers you used?
Hi Valerie. Now I wish I had taken notes on this video. I can't remember which pencil numbers I used but I'll be sure to start including that type of information in the description from now on. Thanks for the comment and I hope your rose turns out well, even if a your color choices are not an exact match to the video.
@@ArtLessonsUnlimited that's okay. I learned quite a bit. I watched your other one on coloring and orange too. Very helpful for visualizing the process!
Amazing technique and advice, much appreciate it!
I’m glad you liked it. It was a fun one to paint too. Thanks for watching.
What kind of subject would you choose with the black as a shadow color? I really liked this demo and I was surprised that I liked the black just fine because normally I don’t. So perhaps I was applying a layer that was just too heavy. Thank you for this.
Sure, with black we just have to be really careful how much we apply because burnishing the layers together just makes it even darker. Regarding subject, shadows can "pick-up" the colors around them sometimes, so for example, if you were drawing a subject that was next to a black object or a cool colored object then black would be a good choice in that case, but it's really about how intense you want the colors to be, including the shadows. Using black and/or a complementary color results in a natural look, while analogous colors in a shadow really pumps up the color-some people like that. Thanks for the comment.
@@ArtLessonsUnlimited Thanks for the really helpful response!
Another great video. I have never tried something as complex as this but I did as lot but did a lot of mechanical drawing back in the day as a machinist. They weren't great but at the time I was the only one following them because I was the one making them. These lessons and Matt's lessons would have been a great help on perspective.
Hey Peter, Glad you liked it. It was a fun and challenging drawing to work out. I do love using linear perspective.
I am happy to see your channel, Ashley. 😎
Yeah, I'm firing it up again. Glad you've found it!!
Ashley, I was so happy when this popped up on feed! Thanks for all you do.
You're welcome, and this one was fun to do! I appreciate your encouraging words.

I am really struggling to make the hyperrealism come out,. The outlines ate easy but there must be some secret to figuring out the light to shade?

great printmaking tech.
Can we draw vertical lines ONLY in place of horizontal lines while hatching? You used vertical lines for front and horizontal lines for the side of the first cube you did with hatching?

This is exactly what I am looking for for my College of Art drawing class. Thanks so much. <3

I watched and learned that scratchboard is a material with white paper with plastic on top and a black scratch-able ground. I also learned that you could use the end of a paper clip or a point of a razor blade to scratch the surface of your material.
Good
When he said: *size of a fist* , i put my fist up and lined it up with the diamond at that moment, and it was the size of a fist. Interesting, eh?
