Campfire Safety
Did you know that 90% of forest fires are man made? Care to take a guess at how many campfires are left hot and burning by campers on a daily basis? Well, as Camp Hosts who have become the first line of defense against this hazard, we can tell you that number is much higher than you probably think. Whether campers are improperly preparing their site for a campfire, using wood too large for the fire ring, have become complacent, or just don’t know how to safely extinguish a campfire, these mistakes are hazardous and place the lives of those within their campsite, and the campground, the forest and its wildlife in danger. In this video, we’re going to cover all that to better help campers safely enjoy a campfire. Because let’s be honest… camping just isn’t the same without a campfire! 👍🏼

We always tried to camp where there was cellphone coverage just in case of an emergency. If you aren't in cell range, know where you need to drive to get a signal. Also, we always traveled with a first aid kit for emergencies. If you're at a campground and you have any concerns notify the camp host immediately. If it's an emergency call 911. Thanks for watching and happy camping. 👍🏼

Another trick- if you have kite string/twine- is to tie a loose loop in the ring, and tie the other end to a shower rod, of somewhere it won’t fall in. Then, if you have bad arthritis and you let go the ring, it doesn’t fall in. Then, make the loop the last section you tuck in. Cut inside the loose loop, and just pull it out. Anyway, it saved me.

Interesting video with more information on Amazon Camperforce than I've seen elsewhere. Thanks for being so helpful. I've been considering doing this. You didn't mention how long you have to stand in one spot, or pick, in a shift before being given a break. You did mention a 30minute lunch break. I would love to know what would an actual shift schedule would look like...clock in, daily briefing, work shift, break, 2nd work shift etc. How does it actually work in real time and why do so many people say it is physically very demanding? Are you actually standing in one spot for 10 hours at a time before you get a break? Or are you standing for a total of 10 hours with breaks in between? Thanks!

Our experience is really strange. We gave 4 seasons to AL&L and were absolutely perfect. Did everything to their rules, very polite and caring about campers, did all we could beyond the call of duty. We were on time, did my paperwork neatly and correctly, campers complimented our bathrooms. We gave time to campers all time of day and night --- never complained about it and always helped campers all times of the night. Yet just because l called corporate a couple of times about their rules not being followed they said we can't come back next season. Are they that narcissistic that they can't care about us anymore than that? We are 80 and 78 and very reliable and trustworthy but somehow they can't care about us Yes we cleaned 4 bathrooms a day. We had 4 group areas and did it all ourselves. We got up at 5:30 am every morning So if you decide to get a hosting job with them do not ever say anything even though they say they want to hear from hosts

As you can imagine, I’ve seen more than my share of theft. Yes, most of the time just locking things makes the difference; however, the drug addled, looking for their next fix can be pretty determined. They are hard to stop. RV’ing or not !
