If we apply calcium, it is in solution 32. We apply it and top dress the wheat while we spray for weeds. A bit of fertilizer in the water

We want the combine to slide a little on the hills and to not dig so much in our soft soil. We dont want big trenches on the hills

It is ron, my friend who got me the job with Randy.

We fogure its in the lower to upper 30s in degrees. I always joke and say its 32nd degree (freemason joke) but we unload on the go up to about 28 degrees if the field allows it. Some of the fields are all too steep to unload on the go.

Agreed! My dad is mowing while harvest is still going on. He has the luxury of custom cutters that come in though. He mows it, then harrows it and eventually turbo tills it as well to make a good seed bed. We are a bit short on the moisture band, so we stay away from the peas but we wish we could increase the soil health with something like that though. Thanks for tuning in! Local boys and whatnot. Yeah, they go to animal feed as well as being replanted. The local grain growers takes them and resells them to other farmers and i believe some even go to dried peas for soups. The garbanzo beans we plant around here go to Sabre humus.

More close to Lions Ferry and the town of Starbuck. The farm I was working for was between dayton and central ferry. These last few videos are from the new place.

When they used to rod north of Dodge that area they went sooo deep you'd get dirt in a tall boot just walking in it 😅😅

This would be wheat one year then fallow the next here. He's showing what they're doing in the fallow year here.

There is a fallow year where we chem fallow the ground, starting sometimes in the fall after the harvest. Then the fallow is continued through chemical application until it is replanted. This is not ideal, but eliminates the green bridge and we have little problems with most infections here, other than rust when it rains a lot.

The land is left fallow until the following fall.

Its a parts pile essentially that has been bought from the people whos place that is. They come and get parts off them. Theres tons of 1470s and 1460: laying around out here

My dad works his own land without me. My family has been farming the same valley here for over 130 years. I am a hired hand now. My boss just died so im at a new place.

I no longer own my own farm, but that wasn’t my decision. If you are saying my dad could take who i am away from me by kicking me off hid farm and tearing down my house, you are mistaken. I am the 5th generation of an active farming family.
