      @jaxontanner9822 Před 6 měsíci

      Drive train loss, as well as a no emissions equipment whatsover, no a/c, much less on the charging system to run (like electric powersteering) is my bet Edit: also a much more efficient exhaust system

    • @RotormanMTB
      @RotormanMTB Před 5 měsíci

      More than 30HP extra.. This is RWHP. Rx8s have 238HP at the flywheel. This Reni has what I'd estimate is 300 FWHP - that's BP\PP territory and PROVES that Bridgeporting (well.. any porting for that matter) is a total waste of time on the Reni. I would however encourage some tighting up the exhaust ports though. Very impressive. I think Nate explains on it well in the description. Thanks for sharing Nate! Awesome!

    • @NateRist
      @NateRist Před 5 měsíci

      @@RotormanMTB That’s not even close to correct. The renesis in the RX-8 does indeed have a 238HP rating for output at the crank, however, only 180-190whp actually makes it to the tires. This is because the average drivetrain loss for a production FR rotary car is roughly 20% (238 - 20% = 190). In a formula Mazda application like this the engine is rear mounted and bolted to a transaxle. The output from the motor to the tires is almost the same because there is very little drivetrain loss. How much exactly is unknown, but it is substantially lower than 20%. In this application with an output of 250-260whp the crank HP is likely somewhere around 260-270 HP.

    • @NateRist
      @NateRist Před rokem

      The number or letter codes stamped into the rotors on each side seal slot corrensponds with a precut side seal that's within a tolerance "range" that falls within spec, but is not guaranteed to be consistant or within your preferred tolerance. For first time builders that may not feel confident in cutting their own seals it is recomended to purchase precut side seals as the engine will run fine with them, but for builders like myself that wants the best outcome possible with consistent compression across all faces cutting seals down is the better route and worth doing if you're up to the task. @13:14 I would say that's a sign of the rotor eating a chunk of exhaust port carbon. The rotor drags it along the housing, then crushes it against the rotor faces, leaving the fragments to jam into the seal grooves and cause stuck and cracked seals like you have. Which explains why your rear exhaust port carbon shelf was empty; it must have been filled similar to your front, but got chewed out.
