Remo Williams Pilot Golf Scene
This is from an old VHS recording of the Remo Williams TV pilot. I thought this scene was pretty cool. It never lived as a series. Probably because the movie was awesome because Fred Ward and Joel Grey did such good jobs. Most of the time, I find yellowface to be rather insulting, like David Carradine in Kung Fu stealing the part from Bruce Lee.

Here is part 2. I might use this opportunity to mention that relating to what I say at the beginning of part 2, that all forces inherently contain energy, that the elementary nuclear particles, the proton and neutron, only get something like 5% of their mass from the quarks which comprise them; the rest is in the strong force field itself, which holds them together. Or should I say the 'color f...

NOTE! This is only part 1. My video was 15:04 long and so part 2 is listed as a video reply to THIS. Alternatively I might title this "HOW to use a search engine" since it amounts to basic, basic internet education. It would seem Desertphile and a number of people who have criticized me for saying that magnetic fields contain energy lack the basic ability to use a search engine. Either that, or...
Christmas with President McCain

It's not the holiday season yet, but here's a little Christmas-at-ground-zero cheer nonetheless. So which side will you vote for? It's order versus chaos. If you think McCain is any different from Bush, think again. This is what you get for electing an oil baron president. And McCain will pick up where Bush left off. And if you just want to vote for McCain because Obama's black, ask yourself th...

Yes, it's true, I have no life, and here's the proof! Several VERY exciting solutions to level 5 using one object only. And just to spice it up a bit, I think the doom music makes it more interesting than that gentle lullaby, don't you? The first two are genuinely consecutive and punctuated only by my hitting the space bar since I can reliably perform the second one - you draw a box in a certai...

Ok, some people are tooting '1 object per star' but I held myself to the standard that I'm not allowed to lose the ball or unnecessarily delete objects I've created. So the first 6 rounds I solve by creating one object each, and the last one I create 3 objects and destroy one. I believe my solutions for rounds 4 and 5 don't appear elsewhere though I'm not sure. I don't like the solution for 6 b...

I entered this in the Adult Swim playstation 3 video contest. I guess they think the talking head was more interesting than my masterwork of oddness. Well, you decide.
I am amazed that there was only one Remo Williams movie.
Я не видел в фильме этого эпизода.
David Carradine did not make the decision as to who would star in Kung Fu. The director did. Hence, your statement that he "stole" the role from Bruce Lee is false and derogatory. If you want to cast blame, do so accurately.
David Carradine didn't steal anything. The producers of Kung Fu chose to hire him instead of Bruce Lee.
the tv show
to those who havent seen remo williams, you need to check it out.
I think I need to watch this movie. I never actually seen it all the way through. The old man is tough.
I bought the assassin's handbook by Ciun The Master of Sinanju, N. korea.
I’m not convinced that man is Korean.
I'm missing about 15 books to have a complete series. Definitely not in prime condition. They were read often.
I love Joel Grey, but seeing him in that yellow face getup is painful to watch.
It’s on YT. czcams.com/video/iQGeLXmN4ps/video.html

Holy fuck…watched this as a kid. Fucking yellow face bullshit.
You swing like a pregnant yak.
If I remember the book Created, the Destroyer correctly, this is the guy who "tried" to kill Remo while he and Master Chuin were walking down a city street. Chuin was proud that, even in "death", Remo centered his body. Chuin brought him back from "the brink" and chastised him for not seeing (being aware of) what was coming. Also, the would-be assassin wasn't too happy when he next met Chuin. Great read!!!
Chium, you're incredible.
Netflix needs to buy the rights and put together a well-budgeted season. The original movie still stands tall and is a fun watch. Funny thing is most Koreans don't even know the movie, or the novels, exist.
A friend of mine was a collector of the books. He wrote to the publisher as if he were writing to Chiun, asking for wisdom. The writer, Chiun, wrote back and began the letter with 'Oh Ignorant White...' He treasures this letter to this day!
😅 can't blame him
I liked the books; the few that I read. I personally thought the movie stunk except for Master Chui.
Jon Bernthal should reboot Remo.
I forgot about the TV pilot. I have all the books. The movie was fun. A bit campy, but fun.
There are times I really like Chiun.
I believe Roddy McDowel became ill shortly afterwards and passed away (Not sure), and they did wait just a bit too long to make a sleeper hit like Remo Williams into a TV series. I saw this pilot when it first aired, and I'm also sure that cultural appropriation as well as Mr. McDowell's health problems had a lot to do with it never going forward.
ah no, he died 10 years later, so it guess it was just poorly received.
I have all the original paperbacks from the late 70's & the movie on CD & hard drive. The movie was great, but the books were better because I read them long before the movie & the mind is better that film.
I love the movie, and I was hoping for sequels, but that was not to be.
I would have SOO watched this!
A camp classic...
WOW!!! Never knew they did this!! Big fan of the movie!
Huh ?? 😂
What? There was a TV show? Sheesh, those TV guys are idiots
The movie had an alternative titel in the Netherlands: Remo Williams, Unarmed and Dangerous.
Joel Grey played this part 1000% better than Roddy McDowell.
This clip is all I've seen of the TV pilot, don't recall hearing of it before. My only major complaint about Roddy McDowell's performance is that he seems to be going too fast. Joel Grey's version was slower, more methodical, as if timing of words and motions was everything (appropriate for the character). I know Roddy could do that; in this case it may have been the constraints of the pilot duration required a certain pace.
Loved his subtle/ not so subtle bump.
I seriously wish Kino Lorber had put the TV pilot for Remo Williams as an extra for their Blu Ray release of the film, especially considering it's never gotten a legit release still to this day.
I was mocked on Philly WIP sports radio when I mentioned "Remo Williams..." as a fun and terrific 80's movie choice to go back and watch! It's a normal side chatter for the show to ask an aside poll question and entertain suggestions from side areas to sports. They hated me for saying how indispensable Carson Wentz was to the Eagles in winning their only SB in '17,'18 so they lept at any avenue to pan and mock me. It was totally ignorant of them to dismiss "Remo Williams" as a memorable movie from that time period.
Philistines
I enjoyed that lol
So add poor Roddy McDowall to the litany of actors who did yellowface: incl. ugh rapist Brando, Chris Lee, Alec Guinness, Kathy Hepburn, Fred Astaire, Ingrid Bergman, Peter Sellers, John Wayne, David Carradine, mickey rooney, Paul Muni, Jack Lemmon... RIP Fred Ward who didn't and who should've made the sequel.
What If?😂 Jman
ok I love any live action Chiun I can get...but the cartoon noise one the "putt" kind of had me rolling my eyes
Chuin hit it so hard the ball was vibrating at a high frequency thus the woosh sound.
I loved the movie.
what carried this character in the movie is the actor used a lot of real kung fu flicks for his character. So at the time he came over as more authentic than offensive
Kung fu and other martial arts are rays of sunshine with Sinanju being the sun itself.
Probably made in Taiwan. Hahahahaha.
HIlarious. How he crushes the ball like a grape.
Crazy how well Roddy McDowel nailed the character EXACTLY the way Joel Gray played it. It took me a second to realize it wasn’t him! I never knew they tried making this a series.
Joel Grey’s voice was 1000 believable and funnier vs Roddy McDowell.
Yeah only 20 years before the movie
Roddy McDowall or Joel Grey

Must have been made in Taiwan! Hilarious!
