Ruthie Henshall On John Barrowman's Tonight's The Night (Maybe This Time)
Singing Maybe This Time on Tonight's the Night BBC1. I do not own the rights. No copyright infringement intended. For fan entertainment only.
So many people are saying this was a terrible performance by Ruthie. I disagree. I'll admit her voice isn't what it once was but that is to be expected as A) she is older B) she has had a stressful last few years. But she's still in tune and still sounds good. And she is the perfect actress. She always feels the song she sings.

A more recent video of her singing it than most of the others on youtube. Happy Christmas Ruthie fans, thought I would give you something new before christmas arrives! x Lots of you have been commenting on this but I believe she was sick when this was recorded. And it isn't like it's terrible, inevitably her vocals aren't as strong as when she was younger but she still acts it with the most emo...

Here's a little clip for those of you who missed it, want to see it again or don't live in the UK and wasn't able to watch on tv. Have only posted a short clip because of copyright - I didn't want to post the whole thing and get suspended for it. Have chosen the mini-interview part of the show as I am imagining that for most Ruthie fans that will be what interests them most. Enjoy!

In the book, Javert arrives before Fantine dies, and actually tells her that Valjean is a convict. In shock, she collapses onto the bed and dies much more suddenly. I’m glad she got to go peacefully in the musical, not thinking about the possibilities of what a convict might do with her daughter, the girl which she gave her life to protect.

Days can be sunny with never a sigh Don't need what money can buy Birds in the trees sing their day full of songs Why shouldn't we sing along? I'm chipper all the day Happy with my life How do I get that way? Look at what I've got I got rhythm, I got music, I got my man Who could ask for anything more? I've got daisies in green pastures I've got my man Who could ask for anything more? Old man trouble, I don't mind him You won't find him 'round my door I've got starlight I've got sweet dreams I've got my man Who could ask for anything more? My father began to ignore me after my 300th question about the world when I was young. I felt confused and scared, but mostly betrayed by the person who promised to protect me. Deep inside, I vowed to not be like him. Years later, people of all sort noticed that I worked hard to answer their questions, even if it meant infinity. Slowly, their decisions became based on my answers, but little did I know during my youth that nothing can ever be completely conveyed. So society was shaped by my answers, and the people still had questions because complete understanding was at the time conceptually impossible. Even if a designer provides a billion-paged instruction manual, there will still be logical steps between every logical steps that are yet ever defined. This world, when I realized, became mine. I felt scared knowing that if by any accident I lose my memory, then perhaps nobody will have the truth in this rapid age of information when being ill-informed is akin to physical illness. So I worked on never losing concentration. It has been more than three years since I began this effort. My hair has discolored white and my body twitches in paranoia of distraction, but I did it. My next project was giving the straight truth. The ones who I tested turned on me, trying to replace me without gaining the ability of never losing concentration. Fighting them without losing my own concentration, without losing sight of the real fight, was difficult, but I did it. Nowadays they are as docile as dogs, but occasionally when I succumb to mercy and try being vulnerable to them to re-befriend, they suddenly regain memory about power and attack me, as if I am the moon to them werewolves. So I cloud myself in disguise in front of them particularly. Someday they will be killed, but until then, this is what I do. For a change in strategy, I decided to train people in absolute concentration before enlightening them with the truth. I was proud of how well their memories and concentration became, but I underestimated their tendencies of maintaining tradition, even if those traditions were vile and hurt them in the past. One glance at the field and I knew they would be unstoppable if they become pawns to the nobility. So I refused teaching them the truth to truth. Some of them stayed loyal to me, some of them stared long at the world and died of horror, and others may have vowed to destroy me. Some of them have looked to study the werewolves, only to be killed in action, corrupted, or assimilated. Some have confiscated my past writings to study fervently, but my past careful nature of intentionally jumping many logical steps still baffle them. After all, even I had difficulty decoding what I thought was God's cryptic message. Now the clues taken by them are additionally coded uniquely by me. I have began to realize that only I must hold the key. Whether I was selected or not, I do not know. Selection implies sentient decision, but even that might be wrong. What I do know is that I know the real rule, and other people simply cannot. So what do I do now in the present when werewolves and sleepless warriors exist? I decided to humor God/s, so I tattooed on my left arm with spiritual ink, "imagine that there are many people who are tired of the same shit, and that I can make a difference and entertain." Even if limited by the need to disguise in front of dog-form werewolves and the need to refrain from leaking the truth about truth to the sleepless warriors, I still am relatively abled to craft, prepare, and express happiness, no matter how long, subtle, and arduous it may be. At age 25, I had my first love with a woman. Though she was not my desire, even for a while, I thought she was the one who could instead carry my burden, and that happiness that may appear minuscule to you was a huge deal to me, who was forced to lower the expectation of happiness until touching dirt. Sadly the her I know is no longer present, picked apart by the studious and trained in interrogation for a possible reencounter with myself, although they knew long ago that I will never meet her again. So long as people attack me, miracles are needed to protect me. So long as miracles occur, people continue attacking me in attempts of gaining the actually unattainable power, and sometimes more people join the war against me. So, sometimes, miracles occur within their organization, and the civil war is a sight to behold comparable to a jungle warfare. I hope they stop attacking me, and soon they would stop attacking each other. The kind of miracles (Deja Vu) that happen for me do not use cheap grand tricks that mortals use onto each other. The miracles done for me are holy, and yours are questionable. Tasked with the representation of this sector of territory as a human, amongst us who know the truth and are under God/s, my past overconfidence about restoration of faith now makes me feel feeble. I feel sad because I was too optimistic, so I lay in bed nowadays watching hyper-realistic cartoons and occasionally remembering the numerous shameful attempts of changing the world towards good. It wasn't that I was weak. It wasn't that the timing was wrong. It's just that some people have to die.
