I was watching a video about billionaires who build luxury bunkers and it occurred to me that the day after an apocalypse they cease to be billionaires. Money will be meaningless and useless, what are they going to spend it on ? They will live until their supplies run out, things break down or they have a critical event - ie illness, an accident that needs surgery, or the bunker leaks, they go mad etc. if there is any sort of survivors the economy it will be bartering and exchanging skills and labour, they are just making underground mausoleums.

Fallout 4 actually doesn't have much to show for itself. Fallout 1-3 was better in terms of worldbuilding and plot, Fallout New Vegas faction system and complex political plot was better, and the only thing Fallout 4 actually has - basebuilding - was a pain in the butt, especially without DLC

France is the only one country in EUROPE with independant nuke weapons. So, beside of UK, France shouldn’t have lots of issue to “win” a war against others europeans countries.

So I just re did the the BOS ending BUT I shot a flare up and called upon some Minutemen troops to help escort Liberty Prime. I also had Preston in power armor as my companion so in a way the BOS and the Minutemen both liberated the Commonwealth. A canonical ending with a personal spin.

I'm guessing coins are also out of the question because they've most likely deteriorated beyond recognition at this point due to oxidation

Another in game explanation surely must be the state of the roads simple aren't conducive to driving. Any city based game having cars would be pointless .. look at the commonwealth for example, where the roads aren't destroyed they are inhabited or barricaded. A fallout game with cars would have to be in a rural, less bombed part of the world, unlikely to be a main game but could make a nice DLC.

From what I heard tactics is 100% canon, but with the bullshit Emil pulled with the Fallout 1 opening retcon and the show’s canon wonkiness I don’t even know anymore, it’s almost as bad as the timeline for the Star Wars Legends continuity due to, in Disney’s infinite wisdom, including Dave Filoni’s Clone Wars in both canons when it doesn’t fit in Legends at all
