    I really enjoyed your talking, don't be harsh on yourself! I think the thing about this pedal is that, indeed, it is based on a Tubescreamer but the guys from EQD said they made this mod for people who did not like Tubescreamers xD so its a modded version from people who didn't really liked the original pedal, and they tweaked it until they did. I bought it recently and it blowed me away. I used it with a Laney VC 15 (which I also got recently, I was using a Bugera v5 and a Peavey Audition 110 until now) and I am in a honeymoon phase with all my gear right now... I was enjoying the Laney al ot by itself and with this pedal was like adding cream to hot chocolate XD it sounds amazing with my tele but my Ibanez archtop goes on fire with this one, it really surprised me. I am very very happy with this purchase. I was lucky to get it for a nice price used. Pd sorry if I made mistakes, English isn't my mother language.

    I so want to buy this but a few things hold me back. Superficially: I hate the massive headstock, I hate the ugly scratch plate, I’d get a 335 one, but most importantly I can’t STAND the sides 😂. The inspired by 335 in contrast looks a lot better to me because of those things. The sides are a really nice brown. No gold hardware though but much nicer headstock if you don’t like excess. Then sound wise I’ve listened to everything I can and the Sheraton … it sounds better but… i also wonder if it’s a little bit too hot for a semi hollow. Or maybe not. I wonder how the inspired by 335 is purely sonically compared.

  • @georgeargon5113
    @georgeargon5113 Před 9 dny

    Another case of "headstock syndrome." The difference in tone is a matter of taste, not sticker price. Once again, Gibson is caught red-handed over-charging musicians while Epiphone is offering up value for a fraction of the price.

    I see many "apples and oranges" comments, which are completely nonsense. Pal, don't pay attention on them, maybe they want to say these are 2 different types of drive and not being used in the same genres/styles, but this is not that case. Judging by video, I can just say that TS is more "bassy" than Wampler and that's all difference.

    • @GuitarlordJohnBurton
      @GuitarlordJohnBurton Před 11 dny

      Yeah those comments always make me laugh. As if comparing things that are different isn't an incredibly common and helpful exercise that we all do everyday in regards to almost everything. I think people have a tendency to take any video of this nature and watch it as if the creator is saying, "which one sounds better." In that case, sure comparing apples to oranges doesn't make any sense. But if the whole point is to show the specific differences between an apple and an orange to someone who may not be that familiar with them, using an apple and an orange is the entire point.

  • @tlb2732

    I've been a performing musician for 43 years. I've never bought a pedal or any other gear in an attempt to sound like another player or because someone famous endorses it. I buy and keep gear based on my own decisions and how well it works for my needs. Your video provides no useful information. You don't show the pedal settings used. You don't discuss what each pedal was designed and built to do. And it sounds like you tried to dial in the exact same tone on both units instead of audibly and visually revealing their differences. Perhaps you should leave the skunk weed alone. And look into a tuner.

    There is a slight difference, but nothing a Boss GE7 wouldn’t fix if you own either. I love my Les Paul and considers a Tele with HH. But it seems a bit redundant. I can get my Les Paul in a Strat arena with EQ cuts in the 400hz. I think it comes down to how it play and feels. The new player 2 series looks like a good deal for $799-$850 with either HH, SS and optional chambered on a traditional single coil. I tried the AM2 HH Tele, and I liked my Les Paul better. But it did have the push pull pickups. Best compromise to me would be a S/H style Tele and use an EQ. That way you could EQ the neck if it’s too dark or keep it as is. Best of both worlds! I just don’t see that config much outside the American Performer series. For me I think I like my Tele single coil stock and spanky, and my Gibsons with the Humbuckers mid heavy and meaty.

      Good analysis, but different scale lengths change the feel, and that can change how you play? Billy Gibbons said he keeps all the GE7 sliders in the middle, but boosts the 400hz way up!

    One can immediately hear the mid range boost in the Ibanez. The blues driver has a more transparent mid. The Waza craft version of the Blues Driver has a custom mid boost making it more versatile than the stock version. The mid boost on the Waza ain't as pronounced as the Ibanez, but it does thicken the whole tone quite a bit.

    #2 definitely here. If I were going down the LP rabbit hole again, I'd probably go Eastman and never look back.... Bought a new LP Standard in '89 that was the biggest guitar regret in my 50+ yrs of playing. What a steaming pile. Fret sprout, bridge pickup intermittent cut-out, back to Gibson it went. Re-bound the neck, didn't fix the pickup issue, I offed it for $500 and was elated to see it go. They now go in the $3-4K range, I have no idea why... Great comparison video btw, thanks!

      @GuitarlordJohnBurton Před 3 měsíci

      Yeah I agree. My thinking on this one is, dialing them in and comparing is kind of useless since the positions they sound best changes from guitar to guitar and amp to amp. My main hope in this vid is really just to give a general idea of what they sound like in comparison at the specific spots. Thats really the only constant I can achieve is position of gains and tone knobs. Its highly flawed for some purposes of comparison but has some merit for a few purposes. Thanks!

    • @GuitarlordJohnBurton
      @GuitarlordJohnBurton Před 3 měsíci

      No real difference in playability that wouldn't be considered extremely subjective. I did like the R9 better in this case but those custom shop reissues all come off the line different from each other. I very well could pick up a different one and it not have the right feel to me personally. I actually know a guy that happened to. Paid like 6k for his dream R0 and just never felt like it had the right vibe in his hands. Sold it a year later. Guitars like that you just have to play and see what that specific one feels like.
