I absolutely love this song and Jimmy's drumming on it and the details in it are just incredible as well.

To your question, Matt layers his vocals a lot, so most of the time yes it’s Matt your hearing. But where he deserves even more credit is Matt will record his layers separately, where as most people do one take, and just layer that same take and pitch it if needed. With that said, Jimmy (drummer) also does a lot of back up vocals (they all do to be honest) but you 1000% need to check out Live in the LBC to truly get an idea of there overall talent. Watching Jimmy drum and sing, and hearing Matt’s vocal range live is something truly incredible. So do Live in the LBC!! It’s a must! And I could give recommendations of songs from that show to do but honestly I promise if you hear one you’ll want to do them all. So just start at the beginning, because you’ll end up doing a series with all of them lol.

Definitely the Revs beats.. but finished by Portnoy

The Rev was still in the process of writing this when he died, he'd recorded some of the drum parts on an electronic kit for Portnoy to work on after (though he didn't know that at the time), the song was still a bit of a mess and far from finished so the rest of the band had to swap bits round and do further work on it, for example Jimmy had intended the 'tonight we all die young' to be a chorus but they didn't think that worked, still, the end result is a masterpiece

The drummer for this album was Mike Portnoy. The reason the rev and Portnoy sound similar is because the rev took a lot of inspiration from Portnoy as he was one of his favourite drummers

One of their most underrated songs ever, shit is awesome. Right up there with stuff like and all things will end which is amazing and sadly get very little love. Really great lyrics on this one too, the verses are super relatable if you have some super close longtime friends. “The fight” is another really good underrated one from the same b-side record

Live in LBC is basicly just the best liveshow A7X ever did!! well i didnt hear all other concerts surely, , but its crazy good show.. Well its true A7X master to tell stories just with the music, you can grab the meaning of some songs..
