    Thanks for the video. This video should be included in the motorcycle's manual. . I have 2008 1098. It takes 1 year for me to solve what problem is this bike. It was constantly overheating and then stopping working. I must have been stranded 6 times because of this. Maybe much I dont know. Since I didn't know what the problem was, almost all the parts were changed.Even though all the parts were replaced, the problem still persisted. I spent more money on repairs than when I bought the bike. But there is no problem right now, after one or two cables were changed :/ If the heat problem continues, I will check the other cables as you said. I have another problem. The clutch is constantly loosening despite being adjusted. Generally, there is no problem, but what could be the cause?

    • @uszokrepper1
      @uszokrepper1 Před 9 dny

      @@hakanozdemir3246 hmm if it overheats it can be a pretty easy search following these steps: At 104celsius the fan should come on if not check the fuse, if the fuse is blown check the alternator load because that was the indicator of mine about the fried reg rectifier. If everything is okay than maybe the fan itself went down and replace it... How quickly get the bike hot? I mean is there a stay around 80celsius where should the thermostat open? If yes than the thermostat is good, or you can check with your hand at around 90celsius if both sides of the radiator are hot or not. If not and it warms very quickly, might be a stuck thermostat. Check the water pump like this: when the bike is at around 100celsius, stop the bike, the temp will increase for a minute or two but after all the bike will cool down on the radiator side normally...just a couple degrees, so start the bike again after 3-4 min and the temp should drop on the cluster at least 5 Celsius..it indicates that the water pump stirred the water and "cooled" water arrived to the temp sensor. If not, or at 90-100degree the radiator isn't warm everywhere than it can again indicate a bad water pump because it does not send the coolant through the system. If these are okay and still overheats than you can dismount first everything and check if the radiator or a hose is clogged and give it fresh coolant, with mocool additive and give the bike a proper air bleeding. I cannot imagine that the bike will overheat In the future if your are checking these things...

    • @uszokrepper1
      @uszokrepper1 Před 9 dny

      @@hakanozdemir3246 about the clutch: air bleeding on both sides, so down where the piston is and also on the top near the lever. At the bottom you can easily dismount the piston and pull out the clutch rod from engine, give it some engine oil or bearing fat and put it back and also clean the clutch pistons inside. These are easy cleaning and you don't have to disassemble much... What it can be also that you shouldn't top of the clutch fluid reservoir because the clutch fluid line goes on the side of the bike where it gets hot, expand the clutch fluid in the hose and without touching the clutch lever your clutch will disengage because the fluid pushes the clutch rod...it sounds silly but it is what it is 😬 Otherwise, Ducati mechanics and it is something inside your clutch.

      Unfortunately it's too late for that 😮 I'm not complaining about this video which is pretty good. I just happened to watch another that seemed complete and maybe a 3-4 hr job so I thought I could tackle it. Unfortunately he didn't mention grounding wires and he left off the joystic/rocker connection because he said it seemed to work without it... but in a later comment he said the joystick wasn't operating as he'd like so I'm waiting for merge screens support to get back to me on those items. I'm a retired vet living with chronic pain that sometimes (ok, frequently 😳) leads me to get frustrated and angry when things don't go well. But I thought I could save some money doing this myself. In retrospect maybe that was a mistake. But I'm probably at the 90% complete point of the installation now, I just need the connection from the joystick controller wire thru the small connector and advice about the which grounding wires I need (my kit has a total of 6 provided) and where the best place is to connect them.

Though I'm waiting for tge folks at merge screen ti get back to me on hiw/where to connect the small end of the wiring. If I could ask for one thing it would be a brief pause where you zoom in on where you make connections like that. Oh, and I'm definitely getting one of those lights you are using. Darkness is your enemy and you only have two hands so having the light pointed where you need it is the perfect antidote. The other issue I still have to figure out is how/where to secure the ground wires.

      I didn't remove the Innerliner of the car as you can see, just pull it downwards and it will be okay :) also the rubber seal for the doors, just flip up a little bit and will be enough room to run the cabled through:)

    Hi, do you have a forum for discussion? I have experienced all these problems on my 2012 Ducati 848 Evo, but the latest is the relay buzzing after changing the stator.. Have you experienced this? It’s a brand new 12v, but if I remove the relay closest to the outside I get crack but no start. Changed the relays same problem

    • @uszokrepper1
      @uszokrepper1 Před 3 měsíci

      Actually not but these things are always under discussion in Facebook groups. Relay buzzing? This is new for me.. Hmm did you connected your earth cable?

    • @uszokrepper1
      @uszokrepper1 Před 4 měsíci

      Hi I think it is in the video included! For the steering wheel I don't have a part number and you don't need one. Because you can only buy it used from ebay for example and in the beginning of the video I explained what to look for when you take a closer look on an item on ebay. Let me know if you don't find the part number of the clock spring and I will search for it.

    Do you have to ground? Which ground cable did you ground? There are 2. My unit has been draining my battery

    • @uszokrepper1
      @uszokrepper1 Před 6 měsíci

      Hmm I'm not sure. I have grounded a black cable I think yes. Maybe what you are missing is the red and the yellow cable. Missing isn't the right word for that but maybe you switched them and that's why you are having troubles. yellow has to be on a constant 12v from the fuse box and the red is the switched 12v(so only if the car is on). Yellow is actually for the "save" Modus so the unit won't forget the settings

    Big fan of these older Ducatis, really hope to own a 748/916/996/998, a 999 or a 1098/1198/848 at some point. The factory issues that can happen with these bikes are rough but there’s just something special about them. Doesn’t help that my dad has had his 2012 Panigale 1199 S since new which has been a fantastic bike for him. 30k miles and still going strong. It’s never had a major issue other than just normal bike stuff. I’m interested to see from experience just how much they improved with the Panigale because I’ve not really heard about that many issues with them.

    • @uszokrepper1
      @uszokrepper1 Před 6 měsíci
