Hey Mitch. Great product.. I have this version with the overhead controller and red display. We had a nearby lightning strike, and it blew the power supply.. I had another 12v ~3a wall wart sippy, so I replaced it. But when I plug it in now I'm getting the red AND green LEDs on at the same time and it's not working. Is that a reverse polarity indicator? Or is my unit blown?
Hey Thomas, I think the head unit may be blown. We do sell replacement head units which will get your door going again. FarmLite
@@FarmLiteUSA PERFECT! I love that you guys sell spare parts! Ordering one now.. Not sure if I have the large or small version.. does it matter? Also.. I have a 12v 2.7A supply.. will that give enough juice? (came with a 3A supply that blew apart when we got hit by lightning). Thanks man!
@@ThomasWeeks No problem, yes the 2.7A supply should be sufficient but here's some replacement power cords that work great with the door.. www.amazon.com/dp/B077PW5JC3
@@FarmLiteUSA Thanks Mitch! I just ordered a new head unit. You guys rock! :)

What’s the required wall opening size to mount this door?
Hey Jack, it's about 8.5" inches in width by 10.5" inches in height! We have a side opening door that's 10" x 10" inches opening as well.
@FarmLiteUSA Your manual says NOTHING about how to connect the male pigtail ( RED and GREY WIRES) to the control panel plug in that has two metal circles ( BLUE and BROWN) Which is POSITIVE…????
Hey there. The RED goes to the BROWN and the GREY/BLACK goes to the BLUE. Can you send me a picture of your manual? It should be in there. Google FarmLite and submit a contact form please.
This is shit
Mine just stopped powering up after six months. $150, what a joke

Mine just stopped powering up after six months. $150, what a joke
Ron, we just received your email. We'll get it squared away. Why be condescending with "what a joke"? 90% of the time customers have issues it's because of the setup not our door. i.e. the power in the chicken coop isn't stable so the door loses power and time resets, setting is setup incorrectly, etc.

I have been loosing power off and on. When I loose power the clock resets to 8am every time. How can I set it up to not turn off when the power goes off. I thought the battery pack would prevent that but when I have the power cord and battery pack installed the door doesn't open or close when it is supposed to.
It sounds like your batteries are dead in the battery pack if that's happening. Reach out via our site and we can help you fix the issue. Google FarmLite and it will appear at the top of the results.
can this door be installed on the inside of the coop/
Yes it can!!
Just ordered it with battery and solar panel can’t wait to try it out!!
As easy as 1,2,3.... thanks for making such a great product. It's a game changer. In the winter month's I go to work in the dark (3:45am) and get home as it get dark. Your product protects my chickens opening and closing the door in my absence.
Can two farmlite doors be installed and hooked up to one battery and panel? I need one door for my coop and one door for my run and would like to hook them up to the same battery and solar panel.
This Door is Awesome, and Mitch means what he say's. The greatest customer service I have ever had. I made a mistake and he didn't bat an eye to help resolve the problem I created. I highly reccomend this door, and I highly reccomend Mitch and Kyle too. You wont be dissapointed! Great Product, Better People! Signed, Bob
Thanks Bob, we appreciate being appreciated!
First: Mitch is great to work with. I run a solar panel configuration with the 25 watt solar panel (all day sun with a vertical installation) and the 10 AH battery as shown in the video. The door has been installed and running for seven months. The door has operated perfectly since the installation. The chickens acclimated very quickly. I have zero experience with solar, but everything worked out as advertised. This is a very cool setup. I'm very pleased. I will comment again at the 12 month mark.
This is so awesome! I have had mine for a month or so and couldn't be happier. It's so convenient, and well built! Mitch is a great guy and I cannot tell you how well he treated me when I had an issue that I created. A relly great product and an even better owner of a business. Thanks Mitch! You're the best! Bob
I love this door! It works great, and i'm so glad I own one!
Glad to hear Mike! Let me know via my website if you ever need anything, just google FarmLite and it will appear at the top of the results!
I bought off amazon and bought solar panel they recommend and battery. The solar panel has No hardware. Sent back ordered another! Lol. Still no hardware think was $29 … so sent that back. Found another one $37. Came with everything and then some. Love your door! Told 2 friends about it. I have 3 more coops to doors for! Awesome product and easy to install! True about over tightening screws all you need is to keep it against wall. The bottom does not have screws so I put piece of trim on out side to be extra safe. Mine door leads into huge out door run which is half covered with poly roof, no rain gets even close to door so I used rain guard to cover battery and control so the ladies don’t start playing with it. I made box on inside for the electrical stuff. You guys should sell box for the control stuff. If you have a good supplier. I would of bought it! Thank you for the best and easiest door I ever came across. Hope it last many many years! Double thanks
Hey Mike, thanks for the update. Eventually I need to start selling my own solar products as the supplier does have decent products but they are missing hardware at times and almost non-existent customer service, it upsets me but I try to make up for their lack of service as they are affordable decent products. Let me know if you ever need anything!
One of my remotes will not pair up. One remote should be fine I have it set to daylight and dark. Sometimes I’m up early so I let them out! Lol awesome door love it. I have 3 other coops think I am going to order 3 more. Highly recommend! Get product

why is this video sideways?
It was the first video I ever made, I'll be remaking all of my videos soon! FarmLite
Where is the volume on this video. I had to jack my computer settings to the MAX in order to hear anything.
Well I recorded this off of my phone so that could be why, per my other comment I'll be redoing all of my videos FarmLite
I run mine on solar and it works great. I love this door. If you can't get it programmed ask your nearest 12 year old. He'll be able to get it done.
Hi, I have a question, is it possible to actived ( open en close ) the door with the infra red sensor ore a reed/magnet contact instead of the lightsensor ore timer
Hey there, for now the door can only be opened by timer, light sensor, remotes or test button. You can turn off the timer and light sensor to manually open/close with the remotes or test button.
Just ordered one off Amazon. Chose yours over the Omlet and ChicPak door.
Thanks for choosing FarmLite! You won't regret it! Let me know if you ever need anything
@@FarmLiteUSA I’m planning on hooking it up to my 100w solar panel
@@biglonniegruhn Awesome! You'll need a solar charge controller and a 12V battery with it. You can find them pretty easily and I have an informational video on my website on the how to solar power your door tab. Google FarmLite and it will appear at the top of the results.

I’m looking at this door and another brand as my two favorites.
There are only a couple of reputable brands so just make sure you do your research! We provide the best overall experience though between customer service and product quality!
Is the opening big enough for a turkey?
That may be a little tight, our door is larger than most other doors though so it may be worth a shot. The width of the opening is 8.5" inches if that helps
Will a motion sensor floodlight cause the door to open at night?
If it's pointed towards it, yes. You can set it up on a timer though!
You explain the settings for 5t 6l. But no mention of how to set the actual time.
Hey Aaron, fair point I guess I had just assumed and was focused on the actual toggling on/off of the timer/light sensor. So Press Set and the hours will start blinking and you can change the hours as needed on a 24 hour format (8AM = 8:00, 8PM = 20:00) then press set again and the minutes will blink and change them to what local minutes is. +/- buttons change up/down.
The time is the first thing that gets set.. or just keep hitting SET to bypass that.
need one for large chickens and turkey, I have jersey giants regular door is to small
Hello! Yes we plan on releasing a larger one by the end of the year!
Can I order directly from you?
Yes! Go to www.farmlite.store
Hi! I was wondering where to go to look at pricing/ purchase that includes the solar panel set up/ components. Thank you!
Hello! I have links setup on the website for the solar products on the how to solar power your door tab and then my product is for sale in the order online tab!
www.farmlite.store
So when it goes up because something is in the sensor will it go back down on it own?
I couldn't get mine to so I was curious
Yes it will as long as your sensor isn’t triggered by something like a wall, if the light is illuminated but there’s not a bird in the way then you need to adjust the screw on the back as shown in the video
I have no idea what all those letters mean
Which letters? They're all with numbers. 2T OP is the Timer Open Time, 3T CL is Timer Close time, 4L OP is light sensor open sensitivity ,then CL is light sensor close sensitivity, 5T is ON or OF for Timer ON or OFF , 6L is for Light Sensor ON or OFF. Just email me if you need more help.
I love this door with the solar set up 🤩 should be perfect here on the FL TreasureCoast ! I just built a new henhouse with max security, don't have electric to it though...the only thing missing is a FarmLite door!! Can I use a regular lead acid deep cycle 12v ? I already have one of those, one less thing to save up for 😁
@@catstroke Hey reach out to me via my website! www.farmlite.store I'll get you any info you need
@@FarmLiteUSA Thank you, I appreciate it any advice and tips 🙏🏼
Why not attach it behind the top of the opener with the top 2 screws.. then cut a slot in it the door slides up and down through
You can definitely do this.
When will you have more doors??? Out of stock on your site. My husband found it on amazon 10/5/22 but I didn’t get on to order right away and then it was gone 😢😢😢
We just got back in stock!
I got this off of Amazon. I can not get it programmed. If it doesnt work tonight, (3 days now) I am going to send it back. Is the one from amazon a knock off? If it is, it is a POS.
Hey John, Why don’t you shoot me an email so I can help you get it programmed properly? It’s most likely a setting error but we’ll figure it out. My email is written in quite a few places in the instruction manual but you can also find it on my website if you google FarmLite it appears at the top of results. I don’t think it’ll let me comment an email here but I’ll try, hello@farmlite.store
John, Please email me at hello@farmlite.store and I’ll help you get the settings fixed.
What wattage is your solar panel and what is the amp/hour rating of the battery ?
Hey Chris, this one is a 25W solar panel but a 10W solar panel should suffice if you get some direct sunlight throughout the day. 7 amp hour battery should be plenty.
@@IAmNotMitch Wow, thanks for such a swift reply. And thanks for the info, really helpful. Oh, great video by the way. I've been looking for something like this for ages.
@@chrishamilton-wearing3232 No worries, appreciate it! If you ever need help with anything just shoot me an email at hello@farmlite.store
Thank you very much for the video opening and installing our door tomorrow! 👍🏽❤️❤️❤️👍🏽
You're welcome!
What about the inline fuse they say you should have attached on the battery side. Did you ever install a 5 or 10 amp inline fuse?
I did not install an inline fuse. The solar panel is pretty low amperage but you can install an inline fuse from panel to the charge controller
