Can you download the videos to your phone? How do you retrieve them?

I've got a 94485.5 I don't regret not having the turbo model but I do have other classic cars as well. I would love to put an Audi straight 5 conversion in. But if I had an option to get a 944 Turbo or a 968, it would be definitely the 968 Coupe.

Why would anyone want a 928 ???

What I've heard from Porsche is if the 969 project proceeded & succeeded, it would've been the first 90's car to have a DCT gearbox. A DCT in the 90's would be insane. 🤯 P.S. If I had disgusting amounts of money, I would get the 964 Carrera RS 3.8 & 964 Turbo 3.3 S Leicthbau.

Porsche was a teeny-tiny boutique manufacturer back then. So different today. There's no such thing as a boring 928. ❤

In 22 years, my 930 has only tried to kill me 3 times. (That's only once every ~7 years; same as bad luck for smashing a mirror 😉)

It's not cheap but consider what new cars cost. If you love the car it makes sense. Well done.

It's a beautiful vehicle. I almost bought one. But I just don't have the time to be putting into a project car. Spending the money in such an old car, just for fun as a family man, is not financially responsible. Maybe when my kids are much older.

Automatic or manual, both are great cars for different reasons. I prefer my S4 automatic as my daily driver.

It's pretty slow these days. I mean, a m240i xdrive and a TT-RS are both faster on 0-60 and 0-150 mph

Which sd card did you use for the dashcam? And is it sufficient to get 256 gb card or do I need 512 gb with 3 cameras

I owned a 2001 996 that I sold with 109K. I did not replace the IMS bearing, but did change the oil every 5K. My mechanic advised me not to spend the money on the IMS fix. I had to replace the clutch at 87k and the water pump at 92k. Other than that it was a great reliable car.

It might be fairly cheap to buy , but it's still a Porsche to maintain.

What I find the most amazing about 928 is the design. Imagine how cars generally looked back in 1978. Sure there were some pretty decent and timeless designs like the new Ford Granada, but most of them looked like Vauxhall Chevette. 928 must have looked like an absolute spaceship among those. 928 facelift 1987 car could still be a new car, if only the pop-up headlights were changed. Unbelievable design, really.

Low mileage 928's aren't cheap though. 928 GTS is far from cheap. Maybe not quite in the 964/993 territory but it's getting closer. Very low mileage GTS's can easily fetch 100K.

Just a really enjoyable video about a great car. I have a 987 base and I think you captured the essence of the experience perfectly. I also own a 981 Spyder and while it’s 10x the car my 2.7 base 987 is, the 987 is actually far more enjoyable on a regular road at 6/10th. Your friend in the 991 was probably a bit frustrated he couldn’t push harder but you were perfectly happy at your safe speed. It’s why I love these things.

If i had the pockets, I'd love to have one. It would probably be my first choice out of the garage.

This guy sounds like a tight-ass. 22K is nothing for a decent personal car. In my fam, we have a Tesla Model 3 Dual Motor and my personal car is a Mustang GT 6 speed. New, the Mustang was 45K. So quite a bit more than his Porsche but my car is a 2023. Anyway this tightass should be happy with what he has.

Hi Jay, Good timing re your progress on your 928✅ You hit the “nail on head” Re the Joy of driving the car,they are a true GT touring car,regardless of being a money pit,and it’s great you have a motivated mechanic That helps heaps🥳 Thus far with my car it’s been problematic with finding someone motivated,and does the job properly,and that’s why I’m going the LS 6.0 conversion Like yourself,I had considerable work carried out on the engine etc Euro spec cams,msd headers etc,powder coated intake runners etc,and when the ran it boogied nicely ✅ Then it would stop(electrical gremlins)😩 No one has been able to sort it out,and we call it (it could be this or that) Consequently the LS engine is where I’m at The car is really a mint example for a 1981 110 miles from new,Platinum,full leather ( black) and a manual,on Cup rims and Nitto tyres I have new Koni shocks,Springs,and it will sit an inch lower,which gives a nice stance✅ So will see where it goes Jay,one the major holdups for me,has been my health Bi Lateral lung replacement! I speak from a life time of owning most makes of sports cars including Ferraris, Lambos, Astons and most makes of Japanese performance cars. Now in my late 70’s and not as wealthy as my younger years, I can honestly say that the Porsche Boxster is a true sports car and best value you can find. He noise, the handling, the quality are second to none. They have tremendous character and that is important. I run a 986 Boxster S with its original factory fit valved sports exhaust. Ok it’s not as quick as some of the 700 bhp cars I have owned but where can you use that sort of power now days on our crowded roads?

'The Car Wizard' makes it simple to find out if you should be thinking about replacing the IMS Bearing. Simply remove the oil filer cap while the car is up in the air, and then inspect it to see if metallic shavings are in the rows of the filter element. Also, drain the oil still in the filter very slowly onto the side of a container in order to see if any metallic elements are pouring out. If nothing is detected in the bottom of the container, there is no immediate worry about engine failure due to the IMS. If the car is old and the IMS has never been replaced, you can decide if it pays for you to have peace of mind by replacing it. If you decide to do it, inspect the clutch when you've finished the dismantling that allows you to reach the bearing and decide if the clutch should be replaced at the same time.

I have a 86 951, its fun but needs some wiring work.
