      @@my1234tien This takes some chemistry that I have never done. You can look up gold refining on CZcams and probably find some good info.

    Erm, actually, a 12mm x 12mm x 20mm “cube” is not a real cube. Cubes are equal on all lengths. This shape is a rectangular prism. Will not watch again 🤓

    Could I take a machine made silver ring and hammer it to make it look like this? Keeping it the same size

    • @viciouscircledesigns
      @viciouscircledesigns Před 2 měsíci

      You could hammer it a little. Any hammering will spread some silver, making it a bit larger size. So if you could get a half size smaller than you need, you should be good.

    • @viciouscircledesigns

      You basically just increase the amount of brass to make it "softer".

    This is incredibly helpful, thank you! I can't wait to file the ingot of solder into tiny flakes, and it'll be so easy to stamp the hardness or flow temp into the bottom to keep everything tidy!

    Can I use just silver?

    • @viciouscircledesigns
      @viciouscircledesigns Před 9 měsíci

      You can use .999 silver to make the solder, but you will need to add some copper in the mix to make it .925, then add the brass. However, if you are making your jewelry pieces out of fine silver, you won't really want to use this solder.

    Is it possible to etch a silver ring only after you've soldered it?

    • @viciouscircledesigns
      @viciouscircledesigns Před 9 měsíci

      Absolutely. The only weird thing with this technique is that the etch will be stronger on the surface that is facing the plate.

  • @user-jf9wj1gl8x
    @user-jf9wj1gl8x Před 9 měsíci

    Hello my dear brother, I want to know if you have 10 grams of silver, how much copper do you add to the silver and how much does it weigh until it becomes 925 karat?

    • @viciouscircledesigns
      @viciouscircledesigns Před 9 měsíci

      .81g of copper would make it .925 Sterling. Divide whatever amount of .999 silver you have by by .925. (x/.925)

      InkwellFoto cardstock for scrapbooking is what I used. You can use whatever kind of paper you want as long as it soaks up the resin and had a little “tooth” to it. Resin is just standard fiberglassing resin. Polyester resin to be exact.
