I just got my first tablet, downloaded Artrage and looked for instructions on how to use it. This is the most useless 12 minutes I've ever wasted. I know how to 'make marks', I want to know how to use the tools in Artrage. In the olden days, this was called an Instruction Manual. Now apparently it's called 'wasting your time watching a video'.

Glorious. Perfect compare. I don't think I'll ever be able to choose just one, bc I'm most at home in Photosh, but on ultimately on desktop I'd like to use mostly Rebelle & Krita, while on mobile it's ArtRage, Procreate, & ArtStudio Pro. The only thing that keeps me locked into ArtRage more than others is hopping back/forth from mobile to desk. That's a big help. (But let's not forget about Paintshop & Painter)!! 😅

Loved your video. My first love is oil painting. I’m in the heart of the learning curve of Artrage6, jumping over hurdles one step at a time. Your videos are so well done, and love your personal conversations you offer about your path as an artist❤ My goal here right now is to use digital to correct my paintings’ color, values and saturation. After days of trying to figure out the layer import option, I’m now at the color picker stage. Do you have a video where you explain the options of the color picker. Ultimately I bet the color mixing option will help me.

I followed the link to your courses. I didn't see any for Rebelle. I've many years working in Microsoft Office & AutoCAD but I don't know the basics of digital painting. Do you offer classes for basic digital art. I can't afford subscription software.

After all these years, The Old School Filter Gallery of PS always impresses me, I had never seen this Paint Daubs effect before, Thanks a lot! It looks like a bit of the same tool as "median" in the "Noise" filter window.

Beautiful video, Daniel. I really like the passion and humility you convey through the way you paint. The tools (software or brushes don't matter) are undoubtedly important but you often point out that in the end what counts most is us. To prove it, there are those great works that have made art history and that were created with humble, simple means by artists who often had to fight to be able to realise them. It is passion, combined with hard-won talent, that gives life to a work.

Great video! I'll try making my own custom brush,maybe I'll stumble upon something good. I don't know how you're able to use the palette knife with ease,I'm still trying to get the hang of it. In my usage,it rotates so wildly that I had to turn on lock rotation and tilt sensitivity all the way down.😂

Seeing that you went from Rebelle's review back to ArtRage, I assume Rebelle has also lost the battle with Artrage in your eyes, right? 😎 I don't know, Rebelle might have feature muscles, but in my case it pushes my GPU so bad that it makes me feel bad for using it to begin with. Plus, for some reason even with a strong computer Rebelle has a LOT of brush lag, so ArtRage clearly wins for me every darn time! It's just so silky smooth (or should I say oil-buttery smooth?) -- Always love seeing your ArtRage oil paint videos, there's something about your strokes that makes me jump right back into ArtRage!

Daniel, thanks for sharing this video. Again the approach was very simple and crisp for a new person like me. I only own iPad version of Artrage and would not be able to create the “fun” custom brushes like this one but will try to use the default ones. Also will explore Ingrid’s work as well..

Being that Daniel has been using Artrage for so long, it shows how far Rebelle has come along these last few years for him to sound genuinely excited about the software

Hi Daniel, thanks for posting. I am very new to digital art and wanted to pursue this as a serious hobby to start. I bought artrage for iPad and searching tutorials for Artrage, I came accross your channel, so glad to find you here and loved your videos and your explaination. I want to purchase a desktop version as there are limitations on iPad, but am not sure which one to invest into Artrage or Rebelle 7 Pro, if you can guide me, I will appreciate. I want to primarily oil paint but I dont see any recent videos on Artrage (they are all 1 year plus old) compared to Rebelle where I see a video almost every day and even you posted for Rebelle 7 pro. If I need to invest only 1 software for oil painting specifically, should I go for Artrage desktop or Rebelle 7 pro?
