So sad to see a great studio abandoned like that. Years ago I visited a buddy in Wales. Spent a day touring Chipstow and Tintern Abbey. Found out only later that I was a mere 25 minutes south of Rockfield Studios where Rush recorded Hemispheres. So disappointed now that I was that close and didn’t realize it. That would have been amazing to see where the trio recorded the masterpiece La Villa Strangiato.

This was one of the first albums I bought back in the day, listened to it about a thousand times. It`s really in my DNA. I know every note and I`ve played the song many times. It`s a masterpiece. Max Weinberg did a phenomenal job. You really nailed it! Great dynamics, great drum sound, a consistent accurate backbeat and a big smile which is audible as well! God bless your "Papa" (sounds German)! Love from Germany.

He is taller and has more range than me, if he plays first and I follow him I have to pull the entire kit back in towards me or I end up looking like a demented chimp trying to reach the cymbals (and drums come to think of it) 🤣😂I have loved Ian Paice's drumming for over 50 years.
