I completely feel him on not liking modern day multi player games. I've said this for years starting when I was a Teenager that the Gaming Industry traded Dated Graphics with Phenomenal Stories that could be Masterpieces in their own right with some glitches that give it Charm that you officially owned after purchase; for this Updated arguably Maxed Out Graphics with Shit Story Telling and a half finished dumpster fire of a product on release that needs to be patched but even still after the patch it didn't fix anything despite the dan base out cry which you "rent" at the end of the day.

I'm trying to suppress my hype, given the amount of times I've been burned over the years, but this is the most hopeful I've been in a long time.

I just hope that if it is Half-Life 3 that it isn't VR exclusive. I love VR, but I'd really rather Half-Life 3 be a more traditional FPS and they find some other way to innovate on the formula. Plus there'd be no way I could play it any time soon if it's VR exclusive. It'd be cool if it had a separate VR version though, I don't think they'll have to go as easy on players now that Alyx is out and lots of people have gotten used to VR, so designing it to work both as a VR game and a flat screen game shouldn't be as difficult, I mean HL2 works extremely well as a VR game and it wasn't even designed for it. Minus the vehicle sections, converting it to a VR game feels extremely natural, I feel like designing a game to work well as both a VR game and a traditional FPS should be totally possible.

this news isnt possible anymore, its clear valve is working on SOMETHING half life related, whether it be half life 3, half life alyx 2, maybe even opposing force 2 its SOMETHING and thats enough to get me hyped

Just because something is business or smart doesn't make it right. I can do the most legal but also the most f***** up s*** possible. But me saying it was all legal doesn't absolve your moral responsibility only legal responsibility. So just saying it's only business, yeah sure it's only business they're still assholes for it though. Also this is actually a little different than are normal exclusivity deal. By keeping the game off of Game Pass but not making the game a timed exclusive they are directly forcing Xbox players to pay more. If game (A) was possibly going to be on Game Pass then that is a game that Xbox users would have been able to play and save some money. Also games going to Game Pass does not keep them from going to other platforms. By Sony keeping game (A) from going to Game Pass and nothing else they are forcibly removing a consumer friendly option from Xbox users. I'm all for quote unquote business when it brings customers to your product but in this situation this doesn't do that for Sony. Making your product more desirable is competing sabotaging your competition while not improving on your own service is not competing.

I do feel like there is a difference between buying something to own it versus renting something to keep someone else from getting it.
