We use belts similar to that in industry. Took me a while to get the hang of joining them but ill let you figure it out
Hi cheers for the video étc 👍 I’ve got to do the same next week 😮, can you please tell me what size was the socket that you used on the crankshaft? , I just need to get all of my shit together before I start étc. Cheers dude 👍
Nice to see you attempting to clean the job. Now isn’t that better to work on with just a little clean.🤟👍
It's alive, yippee
Hi I absolutely love watching you and Mrs man cave, you give me a lot of pleasure, I have several miniature live steam traction engines and several bits of Fred Dibnahs the Bolton Steeplejack and steam legend, I am proud of them, but I have something I want to give to Mr man cave, its a blue denim Engineers jacket that once belonged to Fred tho he didn't wear it much, its practically new, I wore it but my other half creates hell, so can I please give it to you, Fred was a friend of mine and he would have loved to know some other tinkerer of all things mechanical had use of it, it's yours if you want it...
Ow wow. I would be truly honored to have that Jacket. Well done for the model steam. It's great to see. My email if you would like to contact me is adamfenn2@yahoo.com Many thanks for watching the channel.
Adam, Fred was an amazing guy, he would so have loved your productions and engines, he would be equally pleased to see his jacket valued and appreciated by a fellow oily rag guy...the jacket is yours and a few more bits of Fred's as well, I will chat to you about that later..cheers Spike
You did an excellent job on Bobby Bonser!! That is just so cool!!
Thanks very much. Her first show this weekend. 😀
Oh i hope she is alright ? lovely little drill set !
The earth safety test (2:43) made my day. Yes, replace the joined cable section asap and do check the earth.
Well it give it a test. I will rewire it properly tho.
Another great video
Thanks again!
Will the remote turn engine off as well
Sadly no. I did want it to but the engine needs a earth to stop. It's mag ignition not battery and coil.
''man cave approved '' 🤣🤣 is that a electrical installation official classification and great insulation test 👍
Sure is. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hi Adam, if you are interested there is a couple of articles with reference to Champion 1 and 2 drills on the internet, they seem to have been made from the 1920’s through to the 60’s
Aw handy to know. Thank you. Will look them up.
😂😂😂 love that shut off.
I dunno possibly
Ade Swash showed that belt on his channel he makes a little homeade steam engine called a Waggle engine
Ade Swash in the UK uses that kind of Belt
That claw hammer should be one hundred miles away from any Engine on this Planet. Get the proper tools you go to enough Auctions. 🔨💩
Nice old drill press, Adam
Cracking bit of old style engineering 👍🔧🔩
Plumbers trick that with the snips when doing Leadwork.
That's a nice drill you've got there Adam
The only other thing would an " O " ring but that might cost you getting it made to your dimensions . ( Dia. / Length )
Looks like the sort of thing you'd find in a school or something.
I love fixing old things, just about everything I’ve got was acquired broken or not working! Rare I scrap anything but if I have to, I’ll cannibalise it for every part it can yield, always comes in handy. I hope Mrs Mancave is ok, all the best.😉👍
I would have cut the belt at a slant to get more surface area for sticking. And have a flame on the bench so you can hold an end in each hand. But what do i know ? 🤷🏻♂️
That would be great running off your stuart Sandhurst great video 👍
I think you should rewire with the old switch as always great video 😊
cut them at 45 degrees then melt together
I'm not slobbering I'm druling at the falt of it all 😂
Look good at a rally
What a little instrument for sandy the stuart to run very nice peice in deed
There is a brief write up and some photos on that great info website "LATHES"
Interesting video thanks
i think it is a electric motor not a genarator
Adam. You are something else. The mother of all spanner’s comes to the rescue😀😀😀😀
Kids in Pommieland don't know about nicking a bit of number 8 wire off of the nearest fence? Or the jumper leads from the family horseless carriage? 🤔😜😁
That blue box has a constant current draw so it will flatten your battery, maybe even in a week.
Brasil muito top❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I'm sure you noticed, but I will remind you anyway that the earth wire is touching the exhaust 👍

Good Evening Adam, That is a masterpiece of a move I like it, I should say you can put that on a number of things well done Adam.🛠️🛠️⭐️👍👌🏆
They call that Cresent spanner a adjustable metric nut f- - -kernel,

Not sure if I would trust the Chinese electronics over a good old fashioned mechanical isolator switch with removable key.
Your gonna need to put a catch tray under your saw blade or before you know it there's cutting chips everywhere!
How about a battery hold down strap to stop it jumping about.
I am pretty sure this is a dynamo, and is shunt wound. When you spun it up the blue terminal was +ve and yellow terminal negative, so try turning it the opposite way. If its turning the wrong way the small extra feild generated will fight the remaining residule magnetism ratherthan boosting it. Alternatively connect 12v DC across the terminals with something like a car headlamp bulb in series to limit the current if there is a dead short. You should get some rotation. If not then lift one of the feild coil winding terminals that are connect to the brushes and check the field coil resistance with your multi meter, expect someting in the 10s of ohms, maye up to 100 oohms. A dead short or open circuit mean the field coils are damaged
The Bonser is looking fantastic Adam
👍 nice
You never said How much you wanting for the lathe
It’s on Facebook marketplace 👍
