One thing that you should do is have up to 4 times as much as you expect use for most jewelry items.

You are supposed to use borax to treat your mold for silver and other metals.

In my opinion the Ethiopian Opal is the prettiest of them all, and it IS the most durable. A drop test was conducted from 4 feet, and the Ethiopian opal is the only opal that did not crack.

Very nice video. Your sound is great! I don't know if you are still cutting or not, but if you are, you should try Riley Gunn's dopping system. When I see that green wax these days, I shudder, thinking about how difficult and generally horrible dopping wax is. It use to be a catastrophe when a stone fell off of the dop stick. Now ... it very rarely happens and it's no big deal. If you let me know where to send it, I will send you one of Riley's kits. Life-changing!

Did you season the crucible with borax?

you have to pretorch or preheat your mold too...if you pour into a cold mold itll solidify the silver instantly because it pulls the heat out of the silver

Clarification, mmap pro is propane that has an additive in it. Mmap pro burns up to 130 degrees hotter than regular propane. Real Mapp gas hasn't been produced in, about, 16 years.

I totally love your invention with the cabbing machine 😊. Such a great idea 💡. I probably wouldn't be using the bir your using though, especially for Ethiopian opal. Its really soft and it doesn't take much to get through it. You can also crack or chip the stone with a bir like that. I would probably use that bir for really stubborn dirt with opal from Cooper Pedy, lightning ridge ect. Its up to you but I just wanted to give some advice.

Yo corto las gemas con hilo diamante circular no se vende de esta manera hay que soldar con aleación plata el corte no precisa de pulir ya que la guia de corte en resorte para la acción de banda continua el eje de tensión del hilo es el propio resorte eje tracción superior y eje neutro dentro de cubo enfriamiento puedo laminar piedras con un grosor de 1.mm sin dañarlas lo único complicado es la soldadura del acero Diamond corte la primera que fabrique era como sierra eje resorte pero gasta solo 4.cm y 20.cm para montar en la estructura el sistema de vía para la piedra tenia error de tolerancia y provocaba oscilaciones en el mismo corte con error de 2.mm en la nueva no hay error de alineamiento de cada nuevo corte similar al laminado laser pero con hilo de Diamond
