How to Replace Toyota Corolla VVTI Cam Gear T-SB-0087-09
zhlédnutí 311KPřed 5 lety
In this video I show how I change a VVT-I cam gear in a 2009 Toyota Corolla. Reason for this repair is a rattle noise at startup from the timing chain. This is a problem that most Toyota Corolla and other similar models with the 2zrfe engine may encounter. I initially installed two cheap Cam Gears that I purchased off of ebay. They were JUNK and did not solve the issue. I took the original gear...

Finally a real Technician ! . . . I am a retired old school RR tech so not familiar with these new systems - My daughter's 2009 Corolla recently developed a severe power loss condition - starts easily but no real power any more. She was told that her best option was - get an exchange engine ! My problem with that solution is - - it's a total COP OUT ! . . . real techs don't do that sort of thing - we fix the problem . . . Thank you for showing me that this problem is fixable - - - TIME TO GET THE TOOLS OUT AND PUT THEM TO WORK !

Vvt530 it was significantly less than oem, but on my 09 corolla s Canada made. The light shallow marks on the new gear had to be used to line up for timing. Just something to consider if someone buys an aftermarket gear.
