How about using a projector instead?

I have worked with these type of virtual backgrounds using ultra short throw projectors. They have the advantage of enabling to shoot on a big 4 meter wide background but they are very susceptible to spill. Indeed using a lot of flags was crucial for those kind of setups pretty much what you are doing here.

Does this same principle apply to scenes at the beach? If your scene is taking place on the east coast, should you establish the ocean being screen right? Do our brains need that? And why does my brain need this question answered? 😩

isn't this the same idea with unreal engine backgrounds onto massive led curved screens replacing green screen sets in film?

Couldn't you use something like a laser projector where the throw is very short to achieve the same thing but without the bezels? Plus the added benefit of not as many reflections as a TV.

A 4k laser projector would be a great investment.

In my opinion, your worries are directed to who do art as a job, but no A.I. will block you to learn something or do something just for the enjoying of the process. I call it "the Knockers-Up effect": in the past, people were paid to knock up at your house early in the morning; then alarm clocks were sold at a cheap price for everyone... look at all the money theyre not saving by using the most expensive setup to achieve this possible xD a green screen + open source software/ pirated software and some old iPhones will get you 85% of the way there for LESS than a fraction of the cost.

You need something like a Asus Freekit bezel adapter for triple monitor extension but larger for your tv. that would remove the need to change those trims when switching to green screens.

you could use a good quality UST projector and if setup correctly you could have the projector behind the person and you don't have to worry about any bezel lines or other things associated with 3 large tv's.

I've used this technique commercial... It's possible to achieve good results with only one 65 inch TV. Especially if you're shooting objects smaller than human size like for example product shots

You can try using lenticular sheet shield aka invisible shield to hide the TV bezel

You can get one of those backlit things for a TVs where it lights up the wall behind it and all around and use that as your light around your subject to mimic the environment that you're showing on the screen

Why not use a powerful 4K projector with back projection? You can have a much bigger screen then. You’d obviously need to be way more careful with your lighting, but it should be pretty doable

What I can say is that when “cheap” in-studio shoots are this complex, leaving the studio is for the birds in any situation you can avoid it. All of which is why I chose radio over TV some 50 years ago.

Why not use a projector instead of 3 TV's? I'm going ot use Canadian prices here but 3 inexpensive 74 inch TV's are going to cost you 1000$ each so 3000$ in total and that's not counting mounting brackets and so on. You could replicate this from anywhere from a few hundred dollars to 6000$ (if you went crazy and got something like an LG Cinebeam Ultra Short Throw 4k laser projector) but you could certainly do soemthing with a 1000$ Can projector. If you are throwing it out of focus it doesn't need to be 4k, 1080p would work well. You just need a bright projector with good color and contrast so your projected blacks mostly match the real life shadows. Is there a reason you chose to go with 3 TV's instead of projection? I guess the TV's would be PROJECTED light instead of reflected and so would be brighter maybe?

The focus puller must have needed therapy after this shoot.

a short throw projector accomplishes similar results, although without the ability to mimic the gloss of a window. that and a high quality projector might be more expensive than three cheap screens, especially considering longevity

I’ve been using my iMac 27” as a backdrop (along with my iPad Pro 12.9” as a floor) for Star Wars toy Photography for years now - so much easier and safer for me to shoot at home, where I can control everything, than out in the real world trying to find locations to suit the figures I shoot. - It’s a life saver, a time saver, a money saver and a biggest thing saved is MY SANITY!!!

What about an Ultra Short Throw projector? That would solve the lines.
