First song i heard from Death. I even remember cringing at the voice, however that was just because i wasn't ready for such exquisite vocals and music. They are my favourite band now and i would never give up on their music. Also, what is with unofficial youtube strwams always sounding way more raw and old than official streams on any paltform. Is it caused by the quality loss, or? I would like to know this so i can replicate it too with my mp3s

Lol I think I have the opposite opinion. I like both aspects in both songs but the solos in this version have some melodic moments that top the solos in the original for my tastes, and I think Rob’s vocal performance on the original is too iconic to be topped

Richard Christy laid down the drums to this recording in one take listening the original song on his discman. They were so well-prepared for the recording sessions that this was done in the time they had left over in the studio. Quite possibly, the greatest metal cover ever done was essentially a whim. Christy mentioned this on an episode of the podcast Into the Combine.
