yes you can. You can plate gold onto copper without nickel. Nickel is recommended because it is a diffusion barrier which will help stop the copper from corroding under the gold.

You could use a Universal plater which is brush plating which can be kind of tricky. We also have the Jewelmaster which is bath plating and that one is pretty easy because all you have to do is dip the watch into the soltion and rinse it off good between each step and you should have no problem.

No you can not buff the gold to a mirror finish. Because it is plated on so thin you will just take the gold right off the surface. We tell our customers that the surface you are plating will reflect in the gold plate. So if you have a dull surface your gold plate with be dull. If you have a mirror finish your gold will plate onto the surface with a mirror finish.

Yes, you can add the Freestyle to the Universal.

It depends on the item beause there are a lot of factors that come into play like, How thick you want the gold, If you want to use a different underplate, how much surface area you are plating, etc...

Yes, you are able to use our solutions to plate onto copper.

Not sure about that. We only recommend using our solutions. We do not know what the acid you use could do to your part or even your other solutions. You could test a sample piece but realize it could contaminate your other solutions or damage something. It's up to you if you want to try that.

yes you could heat it up in a microwave or even in a pan but just make sure you are only using them dedicated for chemicals only and not also for cooking food.

you could boil water and then place the container of solution into a pan with the boiling water.

Yes, your anode should have the positive going through it and the negative should be connected to the item that needs to be Electro-cleaned.

Aluminum can be plated onto but the chemicals used in the process cannot be used on a consumer level so its possible but you would need to get them nickel plated or something before you gold plate them.

You would have to get it tested to see how much gold is plated onto an item. So you would have to do the calculations to see how long it would take and at what voltage/current you have to plate at to get 5 microns onto an item. Then you would have it tested to see if 5 microns actually plated onto your item then you could plate the rest once you know.
