    Is black V5 in any way comparable to tough 1500? I’m interested in low volume production quality with toughness and little to no post processing. I realize I’m asking for a lot however I’m just curious if the black V5 gives us that. It would be worth the printer for me.

    • @MLCCADSystems
      @MLCCADSystems Před 13 dny

      Black V5 actually outperforms Tough 1500 in just about every category - only impact resistance (Notched IZOD) is higher with Tough 1500. Black V5 can resist higher temperatures, is stiffer, and stronger - both in tension and flexion. Regarding post-processing, the support touchpoint sizes are smaller with Black V5, so there will be smaller surface marks left after removing supports. Check out this video (czcams.com/video/Hr4DKHX9Hsg/video.html) on support removal - Formlabs showcases Black V5 in this process! • @MLCCADSystems
      @MLCCADSystems Před 17 dny

      The parameter that controls the first cut engagement is called Across Overlap. That allows you to adjust the outer most passes relative to the selected geometry. It works in reverse though, so a 0 value would inset the tool fully inside the geometry. In this case, a setting of 25% would get you a 75% initial cut from the side.

    • @MLCCADSystems
      @MLCCADSystems Před 18 dny

      It certainly could be a problem with lids, but it may also be related to unintended leaks or a problem with your study options. Use Check Geometry to visualize the internal closed volume. If the area you think is enclosed isn't actually enclosed, use Leak Tracking to find the hole and close it up.

    • @MLCCADSystems
      @MLCCADSystems Před 18 dny

      The candy cane shape was arbitrary for this video, you can use a helix or projected curve as the path and repeat the process of twisting around that helix as many times as needed. The hard part will be determining the pitch of twist and keeping track of how many curves need to be generated for all of the wires.

      Thank your for the heart. I machine submarine parts now. 32 bucks and hour to start. Just started a month ago. They have 3 brand spanking new okumas. Also I have Daewoo Puma and a Doosan that does communicate with mastercam. Okumas do not. Their programming department sucks. So I do have access now to a person as you. I asked my foreman how do I learn more. Work here he said, lol. Have a wonderful weekend. You videos will help me retire.

    Thanks for sharing the information. Your video is blurry in between. So I could not read the video content in between. Example: 5:16, 19:26, I crosschecked it in different browsers. Still, it is the same blurry image in a video. So we could not follow. Appreciate your effort in sharing the information.

      Sorry about that, this video wasn't recorded in full HD because it is much older but is still a great introduction to the workflow of programming. I'm glad you appreciate the content, if you want more like this you can also check out CADSharp.com.

    Thanks for this video, but can you please tell me how to get the file explorer screen like yours. I have no idea about opening the detailed screen of the file explorer.

      Great question, this video assumes someone at your company has already performed several actions ahead of time. 1) Install and configure SOLIDWORKS PDM on a server computer for your company. 2) Install PDM client and a local vault view on your local computer and provided you with login information (if needed) The screen in this video is simply Windows File explorer, but when you navigate into the local vault view folder (it looks like a blue circle icon) then you will see the additional information coming from the vault. The information you see in the video is a part of the PDM client installation and will only be visible when you are navigating inside a PDM vault view. I hope that helps, if you have additional questions about this talk to your company's PDM administration team. If you don't have PDM yet and would like to learn more about it, contact your reseller. If that is us, you can reach out on our website www.mlc-cad.com/contact-us/

      It is an example part from Mastercam designed to illustrate several manufacturing challenges in a single part that can be shared freely. You can download it and other example parts at Mastercam.com in the Tech Exchange.

    Thank you for doing this video - finally some in-depth explanation and perspective on the Form 4. Not enough content on this printer at the moment

      The specifications seem too good to be true but so far it really lives up to the hype! Thanks for watching and let us know if you have additional questions we can answer. www.mlc-cad.com/formlabs/formlabs-sla/

    Did all the other object print successfully?

      We didn't print every part we sliced in this webinar, but we followed the Formlabs recommendations to prepare each one. Other than our very first part (which was very big and challenging) we have had zero issues with printing and we always follow the guidelines we show in this video. I hope that helps!

    Do something this detailed with boring and drilling with lathe only. No mill ops. That would be cool too

      My problem in particular was that when I programmed the drill then bore. It didn’t register the hole size from the drill And just tried to do a g70 pass for the bore.
