      I'm not sure but some googling suggests F2DL or F8DL. Seems that it is generally tied to the sunroof.

    Bodie again, I got the new module in and installed just like the video. OOPS, it didn't work, no charging. It took me at lease an hour to find out the purple wire didn't have 12v on it. I traced down to a broken in one of the original cables, fixed that and it works great. Thanks for the video!

    My retrofit worked nicely on my 2016 Silverado. Wire harness plugs into existing cable. It’s also good to note, GM Technical Bulletin 18-NA-153 calls out the part number 19432813 as described by Jeff. My phone cover was not totally flat so the phone didn’t charge completely in every possible placement. Coverless, it worked flawlessly.

      @jeffsgora Před 7 měsíci

      Hey Shawn - I believe there is a backplate that you can swap for the wireless module but I've not done this myself so I can't say 100%. It looks like there are some wireless add-on kits with the GM module that would imply this works.

    one major issue which i faced with iphone 15 while in wireless car charging in VW that their design is not suited for it,coz the moment we lay down the phone on the car wireless charger it is not evenly flattened on the surface but due to the bulged out camera lenses top half is always creating space and not touching the flat surface of the wireless car charger ....pls help on this issues...

    I know I’m a bit behind on this but I can’t tell if the area you’re putting the phone on in the arm rest actually changed at all. What I’ve noticed is that new iPhones don’t even fit in the slot to make flat contact, does making this upgrade make the surface larger or just allow for the tech to work with smaller iPhones

    • @jeffsgora
      @jeffsgora Před 9 měsíci

      Eric - It is only to update the technology for the newer phones to work. The tray is re-used so if your phone is too large to lay flat then this will not help you unfortunately!

    Basically the link doesn't work above for Apple but if you go to the way back machine you can find it. It says, "The implementations of wireless charging in 2017 and earlier models from Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GMC do not meet the requirements for Qi certification. These models do not work with iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus." I didn't know that, I just thought it broke - I even asked the service center at the dealer and they didn't know. :O So good to know basically it's a standards issue. This video is very informative and I like the research and the fact you posted an update that you can get the newer harness and module for about $80. I'll be calling my dealer tomorrow to see if I can get it... they are pretty reasonable with prices so hopefully I can just by it from them. Thank you again!

    The issue with the charger pad isn’t just the old versus new module but the silly size. If you have a large body iPhone or Android, it won’t fit to connect to charge.

    Hi Jeff, Thanks for the video. I just did this in my 2017 Tahoe using the new combo pack part (gm part 19432813). Quick note - if you’re using that part, it comes with a harness that plugs directly into the existing wiring. You do NOT need to remove the rear panel on the center console, only the piece underneath the arm rest.
